Recruiting Football Talk VII

I think you misunderstand @Ulysees E. McGill's post. He says that all the evidence (the actual calls and no-calls, over long periods of time -- and in this particular game in spades -- and the lack of their opposite to any meaningful extent at all -- rules out as impossible that it is mere incompetence, which would even out. Nothing has ever evened out. Therefore, he says, incompetence is excluded as a reasonable account.

His point in the post is that one does not require certain of proof of the precise backstory in order to read the pattern of extremely one-sided facts for what it tells. The fact of the matter is that Tennessee gets screwed repeatedly. (And I will add that Saturday was the most biased, rigging officiating I have ever witnessed.)

Regardless of whatever account one gives, McGill is saying, as to how that flagrant inequality comes to be (ill will toward Tennessee, Tennessee as a threat to frontrunners, a design to advance other teams to the championship game to maximize profit, or whatever one hypothesizes as the root of the pattern of facts, or even if one doesn't state the root cause at all), the facts themselves demonstrate that we are targeted by one-sided officiating.

This appears to me to be a response to people who repeatedly ask about details of what is happening behind the scenes, as if that disproves the obvious story that the facts themselves tell. It is a diversion, with no possibility of ever becoming a refutation of the pattern of manifest facts, which are available to any careful viewer. It wants to change the subject from the plain facts to a hypothetical backstory it can doubt or ask endless questions about.
Exactly my point.

The system is perfectly constructed to allow corruption for whatever reason to exist...and there is literally absolutely no real recourse for the aggrieved...you are just supposed to shut up, bend over and take it.

This is not professional wrestling....this is worse..at least wrasslin acknowledges that is not real, while so called "legitimate" sports carry on a pretext of fair competition...and that has become a f'n joke.

There is no way a little thing like "fair competition" is going to be allowed to gum up the Billions of dollars at stake in this system.

At this point...you have to be a real dummy to still believe, last saturday should have proven to everybody beyond any logical resemblance of doubt that it is currupt to the core...and I can't take it anymore. I love the Vols...but this just pure 🦬💩.

How many of us predicted exactly what was going to happen with the officiating at Tuscaloosa?

Only because its Bama and Tuscaloser. Oh, and because it happens week in and week out. People are acting like this is a one off thing.

Can anyone say that this year has had a single well officiated game?IMG_4541.gif

alabama scored 27 points in two quarters.

tennessee's veteran dl got manhandled.
Alabama's second half strategy involved attacking the edge running the ball and holding our DEs. They got away with murder holding our linemen. Our guys definitely were outplayed in the second half, but Alabama doesn't put up 20 points on offense without the help.

You are correct on our DL being manhandled!! Just for the record define manhandled.
Notice I left out that the holding was egregious, that the fix er the officials somehow noticed a LB hold his hand up, but couldnt see players kick, punch, and put an choke hold on TB.

All that aside, we got punched in the nose and had no answer. We got out talented and out coached.

Moving on. I hope we remember what it feels like getting punched, while the bully's friends hold your arms back. Essentially that's what it is.

Halzle needs to realize that getting cute, and getting away from what we are good at, doesnt help. This team isnt the quick score every play type. Go fast, run, run. And run.

We should really thump Kentucky, get it done.

Kind of bored listening to the endless Alabama talk on the Vols pods i routinely listen to, so I ended up listening to this this
morning as a switch up:

Living in SC, I have more of a disdain for uscjr than most Tennessee fans. And I thoroughly enjoy all the heat Beamer is catching. This guy bags on him for almost the entire segment - citing poor assistants, no identity, poor player development, roster management, talent retention….. yet has the balls to say he sTiLl bElIeVeS bEaMeR iS tHe gUy!!!!

I’m here for it. I hope they stick with Beamer for a long time.

So how has KY's Oline been performing this year so far? We will need to get pressure and keep pressure on their QB... Hopefully holding will be called at least every once and a while...
I imagine our Oline can handle their Dline enough to get a balanced running game going...

Can you not see the big picture of how you can lose a game because the fight is not fair. You get held every dang time and because it’s not called, the lineman play to the refs and hold worse so now you can’t get to the QB even if you still have the strength to take the guy on. If Milrowle is on his butt, he can’t beat you and you can still play LB’s up and more zero coverage and shut the O down. Fair game call at the line and Bama doesn’t score more than 13 the whole game. Some bad decisions but we had no chance.
i thought the refs were trash but i don’t agree with everyone talking about some of the holding calls… The one/two i have seen posted against Baron should have been called…. Having decent positioning and having a fist full of jersey is what we teach lineman to do from youth leagues on up… It is the defensive players job to keep the lineman from getting their hands on you.

Not a big fan of that. I’d be livid if a Tennessee coach got caught and the school/team got hammered while the coach is off to the NFL or NBA.

Also, where does Harbaugh land in the NFL? As a Titans fan, I’d take him!
Patriots could use his skills.
