i don’t know what kind of marriage you had but if i was hanging out around hot party girls getting high…. i would be getting divorced anyways.

Are you sure you didn’t wake up the next morning wondering where your pants were after a few of those experiences?
I had a horrible marriage, but I hate cheaters with a passion and always have....and my ex knew I would never do anything...that is not who I am, plus I have never been a promiscuous type of person, and I keep my word..she thought it was funny....she also turned out to be a BFH whore that twisted me up...I worshipped my ex for a looooong time and couldn't..or wouldn't..see what she was for a long time

We had a friend that worked at the Gold Club in Atlanta and a lot of her "co-workers" would get..ahem.."candy" from me...and I wasn't a fat old man then.

I hate that part of my life.

It started well. The problem is that King never really fleshed out the rules of the Dark Tower universe, so it kind of sprawled and meandered all over the place. Then he got hit by a van and almost died, got a God complex and made himself the center of the universe, then got vengeful as hell and turned the real-life guy that hit him with the van into a villain in the universe...

I mean, it was great, but the entire series kind of went off the rails as the universe inside of it collapsed. lol
It definitely declined in quality once he started obsessing over himself. It began and ended well, but my gosh it was so obnoxious in the middle when he literally wrote himself and his personal life into the middle of a story that previously had zero to do with him.

I have said if King has a weakness it is finishing stories. It was a great story with a terrible anti-climatic ending. It is almost like he gets sick of writing or is up against a deadline or something.
Sorry, I was talking about the series. Not sure I made that clear.

I read The Gunslinger as a teenager and it enthralled me. Loved the next few in my twenties. Toward the end of the series, I was like... Eh? lol

But yah. He has trouble ending. I seem to recall reading that he's a "pantser" more than a plotter? That would explain his problem with endings. And as you say, ending the series was the ultimate of that problem.

I liked the ending. The middle was horrible though. Everything involving himself was especially bad, but really most of the stuff in "our" world was bad.

I swore off King forever though when he emphatically endorsed the Gunslinger movie as something fans of the book would love. What a lying hypocritical filthy piece of trash human, betraying his fans like that to further line his already full pockets. I've never read a word of his books since and never will.

The ending (as in the final chapter) was really amazing in my mind. Very unique and I didn't see it coming at all.

It definitely wasn't a telling of the same story. I think the gist was that it was the next cycle of the quest? That happened AFTER the book series ended?

It was worse than lame. It did feel like a betrayal to the fans and a money-snatch.

The whole "it was the next cycle" was definitely a cop out to defend an abomination of an adaptation.

I expect that of Hollywood, but King knew full well his fans would hate it. You had Jake begging Roland not to give up. That's literally the opposite of the foundation of the whole series! Man it still makes me mad.

His jersey looks pretty green on the back. I hope the trainers had iced down some mayo cubes in advance for bruh to soak in.

This is a hard case. I don't want to root against Tennessee's team or so many of my friends here. OTOH, I somehow can't (so far) quit making fun of Levis. Every time I get a grip on it, an idiot Wildcat fan tweets something that sets me off again. Still working on it, friends.
That...and I hear him mocking our offense with that stupid "we play real football" comment...I want him to do well for the same reasons as you, but it is hard to...especially since I just can't get invested emotionally in pro sports much anymore....but since they are Tennessee's team, I want them to do well.
