Blue font? If not..... The game thread is a thread typically posted in the forums home page. It is a place for people to go talk about the game during the game without crowding the RF with posts about said game. When all is well and good, the thread is created by nicksjazunk. When Nick posts the thread the Vols play well and usually win. Lately Nick has been busy traveling abroad helping the less fortunate (I am guessing). In his absence the game thread has occasionally been posted by someone other than Nick. (See Glitch). When someone other than Nick posts the game thread bad things happen. This is why so many people are calling for Nick to get a game thread up. And why so many people are telling Glitch to stay in his lane. At least that is how I see it.
I'm sayin "where's" in a thick accent

Whar'z the game thread?

@PlanetVolunteer seems to be implying that's it been so long since we've had a game thread that only Pepperidge Farm remembers, imo.

Big difference from last year to now. The interesting thing is I just heard the other week that the best RZ offenses tend to be the best rushing teams. Are we just not sticking with what works or do defenses know we want to lean on the run game moreso this year? I've also heard people say we don't trust Joe as much in the RZ and can't disagree...HH became a master of the short RZ slants for TDs and we seem to be lacking there this season. Either way, we know we're getting into positions to score...we just need to capitalize better and that could be the difference down the stretch. Fix that, find a replacement for Hadden, and it's not out of the realm of possibility we make a nice run and win 10+ again.

Red Zone Attempts (not a huge difference)
2022 - #2 SEC 5.2/game
2023 - #4 SEC 4.6/game

Red Zone TD% (Huge difference)
2022 - 79% #1 SEC #1 Nationally
2023 - 51% #13 SEC #113 Nationally
our rushing success is based on spreading people out…. the closer we get to the end zone…. the less spread out the defense becomes and the less successful we are at running it.

Someone cool and collected like @jave36 combined with or followed by someone who carries the eternal flame like @VolsDoc81TX or @SweetasSoda.

@Glitch's job is to bust into the room in his Vols regalia and set the tone.

@nicksjuzunk could just write the thread title and follow it with "GBO!" That would provide a way for the new people to leave the karmic aspect of the thread to Nick without taking Nick more than a minute or two max to do his job.

I'm sure I am leaving good options out. Someone help me out.
I'm always skeptical of accepting what seems to be a compliment because usually I'm just too dumb to realize I'm being made fun of... But thank you, those were kind words.

I was serious and you're welcome. I get after you sometimes -- sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly, perhaps -- but I'm always eager to read your takes. In particular, you are my preferred expert on officiating matters. I was in no way being ironic. I notice more than I may appear to, while I'm busy going off on Sabey and Birmingham regularly, and having a frolicsome good time. 😆

Hey guys, I'll be brief. Just seeing the last page or two.

Thanks for any concern. I'm not traveling overseas and helping the less fortunate anymore. That season of life was 20 years, but that is over.

I am incredibly busy, working three jobs, way too many hours and honestly neglecting my own well being in somewhat disturbing ways. The other day I had to remember when I showered last. (it was only 4 days, but c'mon Nick)

I've always enjoyed doing the threads, and I'll continue to do them, but my quality is nothing like what I used to do. I used to dig into stats, scouting etc, and as you have probably noticed, most keys to victory are about the same because I'm not willing to invest the work into quality threads at the expense of other things that I already don't have the time to do. When I was in ministry, I had considerably more time and now I have to work non-stop just to not have enough. Anyhow...

I'm happy to do a basic skeleton thread like I just put up for the sake of VN tradition and may get into the weeds on a thread or two but I've been on fumes for awhile. Hopefully I will be moving my family back to Knoxville around the spring if I can shake enough coins out of the sofa but that's a story for another time.

Thank you, Nick! For all your past threads and for your idea here. I hope things get more reasonable at some point soon. Three cheers and a salute to you, my man! 🫡 [Changed post to reflect the fact that Nick had just posted.]

I think @InVOLuntary should hire you to be President of his company and pay you a HUGE salary.

🙏 for you and your family during this tough stretch. Stay strong and VN is here for you.

Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me (The Body) says hold my beer. The Green Mile also
Shawshank and The Body are both short stories/novellas in Different Seasons, if I remember correctly. Both great, and much different tales than The Stand.

The Green Mile was good; but, as I said, imo, The Stand is a masterpiece. The Stand, It, and Pet Cemetery are as good as storytelling gets. Salem's Lot should be mentioned, as well.

I feel like we get away from running the ball. I also think we need to continue to go fast when we get in the red zone instead of slowing down. That would help us too. Joe keeping the read some would also help.
