@Jave, would you make the preview part of the Nick's game thread "shell" for next week? I never asked directly. At least think about it.

Hey guys, I'll be brief. Just seeing the last page or two.

Thanks for any concern. I'm not traveling overseas and helping the less fortunate anymore. That season of life was 20 years, but that is over.

I am incredibly busy, working three jobs, way too many hours and honestly neglecting my own well being in somewhat disturbing ways. The other day I had to remember when I showered last. (it was only 4 days, but c'mon Nick)

I've always enjoyed doing the threads, and I'll continue to do them, but my quality is nothing like what I used to do. I used to dig into stats, scouting etc, and as you have probably noticed, most keys to victory are about the same because I'm not willing to invest the work into quality threads at the expense of other things that I already don't have the time to do. When I was in ministry, I had considerably more time and now I have to work non-stop just to not have enough. Anyhow...

I'm happy to do a basic skeleton thread like I just put up for the sake of VN tradition and may get into the weeds on a thread or two but I've been on fumes for awhile. Hopefully I will be moving my family back to Knoxville around the spring if I can shake enough coins out of the sofa but that's a story for another time.
You ARE greatly appreciated here. Life happens and that comes first.

I was never the biggest PF fan because I loved Coach Majors and I thought he got screwed by Phil, in a much more disrespectful way than Phil..plus other aggravation over the years.

I can appreciate the NC and still think it was time for him to go....Dabo is following in Phils stubborn, anachronistic, arrogant, entitled footprints.

JMO, Dabo is lucky Ed Orgeron. Dude was a joke until he had multiple years of Watson and Lawrence.

Classy answer. Anything else would have been the wrong thing to say.

There are people in a position to investigate the matter. HH is not one of them. He was one of the players on the field. Always a class act. Can hardly wait to see him get a chance to play again one day.
Agreed. Liked both of those guys on the Zone. Stinks they put Hendon in that spot. Shouldn’t have asked him that question.

You’re one of the good ones, Nick. Appreciate all you do. And know your family is blessed to have you. So sorry you’re getting worked ragged. Hang in there, brother.

Harbaugh has not cooperated with the NCAA investigation either. Or at least through the time of his wrist-slap warm-up schedule suspension. No word on his behavior in the continuing mess.

So this reasoning interests me. 😂

Two different fall guys to date and counting...
why would anyone cooperate with the NCAA

It also depends on great run blocking, which we have been very consistent at.
they have done well but the system does help make it easier on the lineman…. It is why every season except one… Heup’s teams have averaged over 200 ypg rushing…. The only season that he didn’t was last year when we averaged 199.5 ypg.

why would anyone cooperate with the NCAA
It varies depending on whether the team is on the protected list

But I was referring specifically to Michigan's own explanation of the grounds on which they fired Conor. One of the reasons was that he didn't cooperate with the NCAA. I'm saying if that's right, then Harbaugh needs to be held to the same standard as his second fall guy this year.

I'm glad Conor is out of the way. The media repeating that Conor and not Harbaugh was at the center of the scandal is an intentional deception imo.

You might be a a redneck if you're worth millions and your wife's dream birthday dinner is Waffle House?

You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take... you know the rest

They own a $26MM home about 1.5 miles from my own (trust me, it goes down hill fast)

It was a few years late imo. But also, in a sense, "jumping the gun" because when the AD finally made a decision it appeared to be a sudden knee-jerk reaction, late in the year, and with absolutely no forethought as to what to do next. There could have been a sudden health issue, for example, heaven forbid, and it was like they would have had no contingency thinking done, and no workable ideas about who to call.

And then to permit Kiff to put an out in his contract in case USC called was further extreme incompetence. That such an "out" existed is more on the AD than Kiff, who was an ass to try to steal everybody he could from us as he walked out the door. Just a flagrant AD sh-t show. I think they had had a few years to have known where they were going and to have some great candidates on tap. Their sh-t show shrank the candidate pool, in addition, by being so imbecilic.
Kiffen lobbied for the job and Hamilton agreed to his terms to make a ‘splash’ hire

I think we are doing more power blocking, so to speak, this year, traps and pulling OL and TEs, than zone blocking, which I think (but do not know) is more usual for teams in that general genre of offense.

There is a new diet that is all the rage. Strangely, it seems only to work for people named Joe. It is called the Dolly Parton diet and it definitely makes Joe lean, Joe lean, Joe lean....

Yes, that is how it went down. Hamilton was a huge disaster. That was my point. As for accepting that condition that Kiff get out of his contract, Hamilton opened the door to Kiff bailing on us. (USC played Kiff in a jam and then dumped him, but that is a different story.) Hamilton signed off on one of the things that rightly riled up so many fans: that Tennessee is not a destination job. I think a DW would have thought things through and a few years ahead. I think the writing had been on the wall that CPF was on the decline for a while. The transition to the next coach should have been worked out. When it did happen, it should have been presented in a way that CPF could have been celebrated to enhance the job's status instead of creating the impression of a toxic and incompetent athletic department. That's what I'm saying. Kiff had Hamilton over a barrel, not by virtue of Kiff's smarts, but by means of Hamilton's gross malpractice. I think Hamilton ended up signing off on that provision because he was panicked because he had no other good candidates. One reason for that was that Hamilton dilly-dallied and buried his head in the sand for a few years, and then he made a decision on the spot regarding CPF in a way that itself harmed our reputation and ran candidates away.
