I’ll even take it a step further and say good coaches actually use it to their advantage because then you can use the doubted underdog narrative. There’s a reason Saban and Smart don’t like the media talking about how good their team and players are
Exactly. No doubt last year when smart was saying people doubted them, it was heavily rooted in their own fans - no one outside the program did. Saban notoriously craps on Bama fans in press conferences. Not saying all this to say we should continue booing the likes of Hadden and others who struggle, but if a team can’t handle message boards/social media doubts, they certainly won’t handle being punched in the mouth on the field. That said, harboring a winning program certainly helps in the building with this stuff, but that’s on the coaches to ultimately create that environment and get the buy in from the guys in the locker room.
Idk, my memory just isn't THAT bad. I remember what an absolute ash-heap this program was just 30 months ago. An ash-heap coming off a 3-7 season, staring down the barrel of an investigation, with about 50 players left on the roster. With Pruitt's vacated wins, this program was 61-73 the 12 seasons prior to Heupel.Lololol Kirby and Saban's Y3 teams were #3 and #1 most talented teams, respectfully

We're #16 rn, nowhere in the same LEAGUE talent wise. We're moving in that direction though.
I am not trying to say refs are why we lost today. Just saying it’s frustrating for players to deal with and then you get down on the road and the fight leaves you. If we are going nuts, how do you think the players feel? CJH said afterwards he felt we didn’t keep fighting till the end today. With all the injuries and having to fight bias and how tough it makes it, folks tend to throw in the towel. Hard to think 40 plus guys will be able to keep it together. Then things roll downhill. I don’t know what will make it change because I thought maybe just trying to get Ga and gumps in playoffs. This seems like we are being punished and if that’s it like some of us including LA VOL have heard, do we ever have a chance?
I played sports my whole life so I get it. A few people coming at me today started by people complaining about officiating today, me calling it out because we were just flat out getting our ass whooped. So now, here we are.
