Banks is gone after this year.-Get to at least 8-4
-Win the bowl game
-Keep stacking recruiting class
-Hit the portal hard
-Nico will get the mojo back on the offense in 2024
Mizzou whipped us today no doubt, Heupel still will have the two best seasons in the last 16 years in only 3 years here. Banks has to figure something out, we still need a talent upgrade at most spots on defense but we are so hot and cold on D. Still clawing our way out of the gutter that has been the last 20 years. Heupel can get us there.
Lololol Kirby and Saban's Y3 teams were #3 and #1 most talented teams, respectfullyWhat we also need to realize that Kirby and Saban didn’t have losses like this in year 3. Anyone thinking Huepel is going to win a natty, might need to rethink. He is an excellent coach and might sneak one in but not elite.
Well, sorry I got it wrong, 2.5 years ago then. My apologies. It wasn’t two years ago. It was with Pruitt and then we hired Heupel. If you don’t like it, put me on ignore. Had you on it a couple of years ago and seems good to do so again.
You've seen 2 drops by a wide open WR this year. 2! Both were Keyton in the A&M game and Virginia.Calling BS on this. I’ve seen WRs drop wide Fing open balls all year. Joe miss schemed open 3rd down conversions all year. Runs that hooker would’ve made in his sleep for big gains he somehow searches and find someone to tackle him. It’s a BIG issue. This offense can’t take mediocre WR, inaccurate qb play and no threat to run from the qb. Just can’t.
Don’t forget how bad it was when he got here because he was good enough to make you forget in year 2He’s showing that’s he’s not more and more as time goes on unfortunately. Next year is going to tell us if he’s it or not. I hope I’m wrong but he’s trending down and hasn’t overcome the same weaknesses for 3 years.
They looked like they barely wanted to be there from the start of the game to the finish especially on defense. One thing I notice on other teams that I don't see near enough on our own team, fired up players. Sometimes, our guys come across so dispassionate. Where's the excitement? Play like your hair is on fire. I don't see that enough from this team.
I see what your saying but from 89 to 99 we would have had several playoff appearances and between Johnny and Phil we had talent 3 deep at most positions. I believe we can absolutely recruit on that level. We have before and we can again.Interesting thread of thought. For my part, I don’t think Richt v. Smart is the right comparison because I think Tennessee is just a different program than Georgia at this point in history.
I’ve long ago concluded Tennessee will never have runs like UGA and Alabama - there just isn’t the ability to stockpile elite talent year in and year out.
But I still think it can recruit well enough to periodically catch lightening in a bottle with a great QB and win a title.
My question is can our coach create and seize that moment. We saw a glimpse of it last year. It makes me think Heupel can.
Heupel needs to be concerned with fixing what is wrong, not what idiots are saying. If it's the idiots he's focusing on, then maybe this is too big a job for him. Every big job is going to have idiots. It's not just Tennessee. These same idiots are gonna be the biggest cry-babies when, because of this pack of idiots, Heupel packs his bags for another job the first chance he gets.
