Most of those stats were against UCONN, VA, Peay. We were getting to the QB with 4. Since then we aren't. That's the difference.
Did we not play cupcakes last year? heck we couldn’t even sack ball state and had 2 TFL’s. We have more sacks in 10 games than we did in 13 games last year, the same amount of INT’s and TFL’s. We sacked cook 3 times, Milroe 4 times, rattler 6 times, hit Johnson on more than half his drop backs.

Are you even watching the games?

If we fire Heupel anytime soon, we are much, much more likely to cycle through two or three bad coaches over a ten year stretch again than we are to hit a home run from the outset.

Years of watching college football and the coaching carousel have taught me that.

Auburn is on Coach 2 post-Malzahn - he’s off to a nice start, but Malzahn had them playing for a title his first year. South Carolina has floundered trying to replace Spurrier. Alabama pre-Saban was a disaster. Florida is in a hopeless spiral, despite so many more natural advantages.

The best stretch of Tennessee football in modern history happened to coincide with remarkable stability at the head coach level - two over a thirty year period. Let’s give that a try, shall we?

Why are fans so thick headed?

Wtf.

Sankey has already taken the SEC from a league where we've traditionally been 2nd to now 4th. You want to push us even lower?

What is the obsession with making the SEC some unbeatable juggernaut while Clemson and others benefit from playing in even worse leagues...rather than having more parity across the country? It's insane and bad for the sport.
because I want to see quality opponents. not us versus Missouri, for example.

I hate everything about their trash stadium, weather and overall athletic program. What an awful place to play football in the late fall. Could you imagine sitting on a bunch of cold, damp rocks on a hill to watch a game? I'd rather have raging hemorrhoids than endure that.
Ive sat in cold metal bleachers with gale winds to watch a terrible TN team struggle with 135 lbs, of Vandy.

No. I would never darken the HS stadium in Columbia.

Tennessee defense..vs

APSU

Tennessee vs.....

Again that is winning football in today’s game. What was the average for those same games last year? Also take into account where they were played.

I expected hiccups then. Was feeling 9-3 but knew full well if injuries happened that 8-4 was on the table.

Do you expect every team that is favored to win to win every game? Especially in college football.

Nobody is saying yesterday was a success? Or even that 8-4 is where want to be. It’s also not the end of the world and if you take into consideration it’s Y3 after half the damn team left via the portal, it ain’t so bad. Get a bowl W and carry big ‘mo into ‘24 giving Nico the keys. I’ll take that.
Now I did think that if we had some serious injury issues we could see something like this. It's just the lack of fight and getting outclassed thing that conerns me. Now a lot of that felt like bad luck yesterday on offense yesterday. Wrights fumble, the phantom holding calls on Sampsons run and the Sampson running into Joe Milton's hand while he's throwing.

I know we can still finish strong, it's just now we have more questions about our trajectory than we had coming into the year.

Will dropping a game in embarrassing fashion that you shouldn't become a thing? Can we get a consistently good defense?

I dont think the wheels will ever come off with Heupel, but I just have less trust that we can win an SEC title or national title.

We can be undefeated in November next year and just lose in an unfathomable way to an inferior team and I won't be surprised.

If we are good enough at the LOS and great enough at QB then we should be able to get over those things in the future.
