The irony is you said Vrabel hasn’t been a good coach since Smith left. The offense wasn’t top 5 that year, but it was damn good enough to be #1 seed in AFC (with Vrabel as HC and Smith in ATL)Because they had a top 5 defense. Not because of their offense. Now they have the same offense but the defense is horrible also
We could use this big guy!! Get him!On3

Just saying that it's about time to really blame the actual guys ON the field. What offense have they had since Smith left? The answer is none. They used to have a good defense but that's no longer true either
He’s a great guy and great coach. No other roster in the league has had 30+ undrafted players taking snaps over last 2 years. Has done way more with less. Him and Ran together will get the roster fixed I believeJust saying that it's about time to really blame the actual guys ON the field.
and yes.....
I'm biased because I know him and like him, but it's not because he can't coach.
Why does ppg tell the entire story of a defense and how it’s ranked in your mind?
How about yards given up?
Time of possession?
Drives sustained against the defense?
Third down conversion rates
Turnovers
Etc.
I would say playing soft makes your ppg look better because you are limiting big plays and limiting possessions. But giving your offense only three plays in one quarter is horrendous and doesn’t show up on a stat line.
We were way more aggressive last year and it led to teams scoring more against us. But it gave our offense more chances to score and more possessions.
At one point yesterday, Mizzou was 7/10 on third down and it was the second quarter. Mizzou wasn’t scoring, but we had no chance to get in a rhythm either on offense because of itBc scoring points is literally the entire point of the game.
The horrendous part of what you just described is the offense going 3 & out.
I’m not saying the D is dominant or great or anything. But it’s not a bad unit.
Also what about all those times that our offense is off the field quickly bc of either quick scores or quick punts? We play faster on O than any team in the country and some are acting like - even tho they’re constantly on the field - the D shouldn’t give up yards (and again no, that’s not me saying the D was good vs Mizzou). I don’t care who you hire, we’re giving up yards on defense unless we have the talent to roll 3 deep in each unit. Just so many opportunities for opposing offenses.
No no no no. I said he hasn't been a good coach. Period. He hasn't. I don't see how I'm being oblivious to the fact that the Titans would be a much better team if he wasn't stubborn and kept hiring within his circle. It's also the downfall of the NFL. Hey that coach/player failed at that team. Let's hire him and let him fail here alsoThe irony is you said Vrabel hasn’t been a good coach since Smith left. Let me also say, titans were 7-3 last year before all the injuries completely derailed the season. But keep it up on the obliviousness/hatred you have that blinds you from reality
Don’t be a hypocrite
It goes hand in hand imo. Offense had 3 plays in the first qtr because defense couldn’t get off the field. It all started yesterday in defensive side of the ball
A bad coach doesn’t have a squad for 12-5 and be the #1 in the AFC man.No no no no. I said he hasn't been a good coach. Period. He hasn't. Michigan is acting like someone has killed Jim Harbaugh and they’re being persecuted for ILLEGAL THINGS THEY’VE NEVER DENIED ACTUALLY DOING!!
This is their University President…
I don't always agree with everything you say, but when I do you are correct.I expected hiccups then. Was feeling 9-3 but knew full well if injuries happened that 8-4 was on the table.
Do you expect every team that is favored to win to win every game? Especially in college football.
Nobody is saying yesterday was a success? Or even that 8-4 is where want to be. It’s also not the end of the world and if you take into consideration it’s Y3 after half the damn team left via the portal, it ain’t so bad. Get a bowl W and carry big ‘mo into ‘24 giving Nico the keys. I’ll take that.
