You lost me. A subgroup of fans thinking UT is a perennial 8-4 or 7-5 program that should be happy with that has no bearing on the allocation of resources by an administration that publicly states the goal at the University of Tennessee is to win championships. CJH is Top 10 and Rick Barnes and Tony Vitello are Top 5 in HC compensation. They are being paid to win championships, top-down that is the expectation and they are onboard with it.

I agree. I was being kind to avoid a potential argument about a subject that I didn't want to waste time arguing. Nobody can argue that he's average at best without Tom Brady. I originally wrote my post worded that way. I then edited it.

8-4 was the BARE MINIMUM going into this year. Period.

In case you didn't follow all off-season, 8-4 was literally the prediction Vegas, ESPN, analytics sites, etc. It only took me to be quite optimistic to come to 8.7 wins and 3.3 losses. And I'm a fan.


9-3 and 7-5 were the 2nd tier outcomes...10-2/6-6 essentially the "ceiling/floor" by most standards...still an 11% chance of going 6-6 or worse though. That's sports.

To be fair to him…. He isn’t the only one lol. 8-4 is ok year this season but going forward as LA Vol has said that isn’t the expectation of the higher ups Randy Boyd and DW… This isn’t the cheap Tennessee under previous bozos. UT has leadership now that wants to win
