If my memory is right. Banks hire was based off of color. Seems like thats what the players wanted and that was the reason it took so long to find a DC? I know this was posted on VN back in during the search. I think Heup tried to get the coach from Ohio St. and another coach who all 3 were black. I may be wrong but it seems like that what was being mentioned. Banks was never going to be a good DC and he never will be at this levelI think you hit the nail on the head. He's aight. We can't settle for aight. I wasn't keen on the hire from day one but I understood why he went that route. It's a different set of circumstances now. It's time to capitalize on their success. I think Heup will.

Tennessee doesn't play them next year. Theres no story to be had. The Michigan story is a different narrative than anything Beamer has said. Take a lap.Lmaooooooooo, TN fans spent a year talking about Shane Beamer and South Carolina, and are still talking about that L with the spygate stuff.
These coaches say these things because they know it will get a rise out of our fanbase.
2 years you will see that quote. Look at mentions when Mizzou loses, TN fans will be mizzou, mizzou, mizzou the next 2 years. Look at whats said when we beat them in basketball or baseball. You take a lap.Tennessee doesn't play them next year. Theres no story to be had. The Michigan story is a different narrative than anything Beamer has said. Take a lap.
I dont understand the phrase “we stand on business”. What does it mean? We're obviously close to being back full time... got the lesser SEC East schools running their mouth after every win & loss. South Carolina and Kentucky saying it's our super bowl beating them and ED suddenly standing on business after getting blown out back to back without the worry of us bringing payback to him next year.
What other drive this year went over 10 minutes? There was one. And I’m sure going 3 and out in 60 seconds really helps the defense out. Especially right after the defense gets an INT and puts in you opponents territoryWhen you let teams go on 11 minute drives many times, it’s kind of hard too. Time runs out.
I mean you can try to happy talk it away, but we got drubbed by South Carolina last year and Mizzou this year. So when we lose to them we should pretend we are too good to lose to them? Or something? You all aren't going to like me for this, but honestly with how our fans acted you would've thought SCAR was the biggest game of the season. It goes back to gum on the bottom of my shoe comment, SCAR, UK, and Mizzou fans shouldn't get the time of day from Tennessee.
Just by how our fans acted, you would think SCAR is a bigger game than UGA, Bama or UF. Especially this year.
If someone wants to say we shouldn’t give Kentucky the time of day, I’ll listen. But we are 10-9 against South Carolina since Spurrier and 6-6 against Mizzou. They’re competitive series. We aren’t above either of them.I mean you can try to happy talk it away, but we got drubbed by South Carolina last year and Mizzou this year. So when we lose to them we should pretend we are too good to lose to them? Or something?
I'd love to reach a point where we can treat those games like they are Vandy. But to have that attitude as things stand is just delusional.
That really isn't saying all that much about the state of Tennessee football. Heupel is 4-2 against those two teams. But Mizzou is ranked in the top 10. The fact of the matter is, any team in the SEC is capable of having a good team any given year except for Vanderbilt. Which means the only fans that are beneath contempt are Vandy fans.

the last time I saw the tickets/money favor one side so much was when we were in the Music City Bowl and the line moved like 6 pointsIt might not mean anything but it is curious how ~90% of the wagers and money are on Georgia -10.5 yet the line stopped moving.
This might actually be a competitive game.
