Wonder if in the future it could change to 2 yr scholarships/contracts. If the athlete drops out or leaves early they have to go down a level (P5 -> G5 or FBS -> FCS for example)

Something like you can transfer after RS FR or SO year, then after RS JR or SR year to be a grad transfer. Maybe add a clause you can grad transfer as soon as you graduate as an incentive to finish your degree.

Because the way its used in 95% of cases is illegal.

You're not supposed to go to players and offer them an incentive to stay, I would bet someone from their collective went to Maye and offered him X to stay another year.

If he's not a major D1 football prospect then he probably can't anticipate a career in football. Wrestling doesn't have much professional future unless you're the best of the best.

But a free ride to Virginia Tech, one of the best public universities in the country, should override anything Fairmont can offer. Kid needs to consider leaving football in the past. VT has intramurals lol.

As for the kid in mention, he's on my sons fb team. Dang good athelete, was 2k yard rusher this past season, and is nationally ranked in rasslin. That said, he's a 19 yo senior, been held back twice for sports reasons by his father. He's also very well "supplemented" if you know what I mean?!?
Hes a good kid that is a product of bad parenting. He has had some interest from D1 football schools, until they look at his hs transcripts, and attendance. Needless to say, i doubt he'd make it very far academically at VT with the standards they have! Truth be known, he wouldn't be eligible to play in hs if grades were not fabricated (at the principles demand) from what I have been told...

I got humbled in college. Most of the roster was not American and I quickly realized that I'm so far away in talent that there is no point in grinding. These are folks that play every day, work at their craft every day and I didn't take every rep is passionately in HS because I was one of the best players. With the recruitment across the pond, I didn't have a shot in hell. I was trash lmao.

Took accounting at UT, dropped it after the first test. I scored a 7%.

About 1/3 of the class left during the test. Heard one girl in front me say “wtf is this ****”

Who makes the CFP

1. Georgia, win and you're in...lose and you may still get a shot but would need tons of help
2. Michigan, win and you're in...could sneak in even if you lose BUT I'd say this is the team I'm most confident stays undefeated
3. Washington, have to win
4. FSU, have to win
5. Oregon, have to win
6. Ohio State...FSU loses could be in, if FSU and Georgia lose and Michigan wins then you're in
7. Texas, have to win and then need to see FSU and Georgia lose, will be hard to put Bama ahead of them with the head to head AND conference championship.
8. Bama, gotta beat Georgia...and then need lots of help, could be stuck on the outside as the SEC champ if Texas wins

That's really the only 8 that have chances still IMO. No amount of outcome will put a 2 losses Missouri, Iowa, Penn State, Ole Miss, OU, or Louisville in


Also isn't it crazy, we go 8-4 and 3 of the teams we lost to (2 on the road) are in the top 10 in the rankings...

I have a newfound respect for the care associated with concussions. My 14 year old daughter had one last Monday in her basketball game. She’s still having symptoms and not practicing or playing over a week and a half later. Let me tell you it’s scary because you only have one brain. I’m not real keen on her future with contact sports at this point in time.

When the FSU got hit, he knocked the back of his head and his eyes rolled. That’s scary and nothing to take lightly. I’m not surprised he is out this week. Get well, young man.

Glad to hear about your experience. I still think you're being naive if you don't think the IRS doesn't have a long reach.

Accounting in college is a waste of time. I didn’t know anything coming out of my Masters. Very humbling. You learn everything in this world from experience.

And I didn’t care for it much in college either. I thought it would make me a lot of money and that’s the only reason I stuck with it. Still not even sure I want to do it long term. I would love to sell it by fifty and start another business.

I think I'd be careful using that word...since the NCAA already lost that argument at the supreme court level.
