Had to inform my students today that rather than assessing them on their performance throughout the semester, I will be convening a committee of individuals who have never taught a college course nor even actually taken one to assign their grades. Kirk Herbstreit told me it was a good idea.
As you continue to whine about the CFP Rankings, it's important to make up the facts in order to best support your argument.

Here is actual information about the 13 members of the 2023 CFP Selection Committee.

Whats the likelihood Matthews or Staley plays one of the outside WR spots next year??

Can't wait to see all the top tier talent we bring in from the portal to round things out with the roster... if you haven't heard, we've got the best or one of the best NIL's in the country, so we should be feasting on the talent we're about to pick up... 1-2 WR's, TE, Oline, LB, DT, secondary, and a QB who wants to be at a bigger program that has experience in case something goes sideways next season with the current QB sitch.

We get upgrades, get some of our guys returning, and we should be out kicking arse next season on the reg.

Probably would be a great role for him but not gonna lie I love seeing the occasional abuse he gives DB's playing at WR
But imagine two stud WRs from the portal to go with Squirrel

Move Bru to TE to pair with a pure receiving type in Joly.

That’s exciting..,,to me

So a whole new team from the portal, got it!

you’re on the committee aren’t you

So you think that FSU would beat Alabama on a neutral field if they played tomorrow (with FSU's QB on ice)?
You can say that every year. They've never really put in the best 4 teams, according to say, Vegas. Bama or UT would have been favorites over TCU last year. Probably by 5-7. Same for Cinci...Mich St and others.

So why now?!?

There absolutely has to be a criteria of deservedness or else the committee's opinion of who the most talented teams from day 1 holds precedence and holds precedence. Why play the games?

From Cover 3:

Chip: Is Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolan, former 5-star product, someone who really came on as a dominant player this year, would you say that's the top defensive option in the portal right now?

Bud: Yes, as of this moment. He is ready-made, impact defensive lineman. There's not a lot of guess work there. The guy is a stud. He'll get a huge bag wherever he goes.

Chip: It will be like when he was a recruit and all the big boys were there ready to pull it together for him. Cash in twice, good for you.

Tom: So which SEC team is he gonna end up at? Georgia? Alabama? Texas? [laughs]

Bud: I think maybe another orange team.

Tom: ...Clemson?

Chip: Syracuse!

Bud: Tennessee. He's from there, they recruited him hard the first time. I don't have a crystal ball pick in for it, but yeah.

Tom: Tennessee from Texas A&M? Is that an upgrade?

Chip: Texas A&M is losing a lot.

Tom: If I'm him, and I can go anywhere that I please... maybe it's just a thing where he wants to be closer to home, but if I can get a bag and play for a title contender it would be weird for me to go to Tennessee. But whatever.

Bud: When we did the show this past summer talking to different collective groups, I tried to pick ones that have good reputations, and Tennessee's has a really good reputation. The opportunities at Tennessee, especially if you're from there, could be pretty significant. But schools like Oklahoma and Texas, that's a big position of need for them. Miami is another one. He is going to be a coveted target for everyone.
