Coaches need to understand that you have to widen your net. There is no mold to cast the exact intangibles you covet.

This program in many ways recruits itself. There are too many 'tennessee is a great place, I could see myself there,' onto Oregon scenarios.

The status quo of inconsistent consistency isnt working. As Larry alluded, anytime we face a team with commensurate or more talent, we struggle . There is a talent issue on defense.

Are those deficiencies being adequately addressed? I dont believe they are. It is to some degree, but it isnt enough.

The bacon dont come to you, you go get the

Have to go all out and get top talent in the secondary. It’s killing us and has for a long time. And if slaughter leaves, you’re in trouble because he should start at safety next year.

So many needs and they need to allocate funds and recruit like hell. Can’t keep getting beat for top talent.

I’m over Seaton. Dude lied, it is what it is.

Close out this class with what we have.

Crush the portal. They have to target top talent and land it. Don’t like the DBs we are targeting. We can do better.
THIS ALL DAY. We actually get aggressive, make moves, and don't F around with portal pickups, we can upgrade this roster in certain spots quickly. We just have to ACTUALLY DO IT instead of standing on the sideline and watching other schools grab the talent that is clearly in the portal right now. Not really liking how slow we are moving compared to some other programs, but hopefully it starts to speed up after this weekend. You got major talent that is already locked in and committed to other schools and it's only Friday... TN better step it up.

I said it a few days ago, Ohtani will go to Toronto...
Has been stated he loves hitting in that park...
It's interesting.
1. I'm not in love with Torontos roster so I'm not sure he's going to a contender, a decent team yes, playoff maybe but I don't see a WS team.

2. It is kinda smart though if he goes there it opens up a whole new world of advertisement and making money. He will have fans in Japan, US and Canada which is pretty wild to think about.

Article I read said we’re 12 scholarships between this season and the next two, and we can’t have fewer than two reduced at a time. Not sure how many we played with this season. But, if I were the coaches, I’d try to knock out as many as possible this season and next, and target being down only 2-3 for ‘25, which would mean not hitting the portal as aggressively as we may want and instead being extremely selective.
No thanks. We have Nico for two more years and need a title. Go all out now.

Bottom line--- ANYONE with a football pulse can see how weak we are in the secondary, it's not working, teams clearly exploited it the second half of the season, it's the weakest point of our team. Fix it, or prepare for more 8 win seasons.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of the RF. When we’re not gettin ‘mitments, chaos fills the void.
Chaos in VN RF?!? Never!! j/k..Still better than the FF by a mile..Things will get better and we will get good news..recruiting is a roller coaster..Still love you guys!!🧡🧡

TSSAA is thinking about doing what Florida does and allowing high school students to be immediately eligible for sports wherever they show up to attend school at. They wouldn't have to move to the school district or anything. Kids could transfer to multiple schools in a year in be immediately eligible each time.
My wife told me last night at a District School board meeting that SC is looking to do the same thing.

I have an idea. I'd want to nominate Smyrna as the Volunteer Club auditor. If anyone is up to nefarious activity, he'll just kick their ass and post the video on here.

I’d say it’s understandable to be frustrated we didn’t land a few more elite HS guys. But I balance that frustration knowing that overall when you mix it all together in the new world over “GM” CFB roster management we have done an ~A level job.

I think we still have a great shot at having a CFP quality roster next year.
I believe the coaches/teams are gonna start moving away from taking a full class of HS recruits, only signing several of the absolute best they can. It seems like a good percentage of roster spots could be held for the portal, using G5 & lower divisions as a farm system & even scraping very good players from other P5 programs when they can. I wonder if Spyre has noticed this shift and is planning for something like this?

I’ve mentioned before that there isn’t a great deal of difference between signing a high school prospect and signing a portaler with at least 3 years of eligibility left. And you usually have a little better idea of how the portaler is going to fare at the college level.

It is happening. Especially for OL and DL.

Thats not true. While they could go to y school they want to they will only allow a 1 time free transfer
