Recruiting Football Talk VII

Why is what I said wrong? Capitalism works best when the most people gain....it fails utterly and leads to pure hatred and violent upheavals and destruction of society when left unfettered.

I'm a Teddy Roosevelt capitalist.
Well done. Big Teddy fan.

He believed in the philosophy of capitalism but sought to regulate to a point where bad actors don't take advantage of the people or environment.

Yea but he does have a point, there are rumors swirling that Spyre is hogging some of the money, Brice liked a post talking about it, and it would make sense because everyone nationally claims how great our collective is but yet we miss on a lot of prospects View attachment 600804
I seen that the other night. I am not impressed with Tn NIL so far. Tn is still recruiting about like it was before the NIL started. I still dont think it had anything to do with Seaton but I am not impressed with the NIL.

Spyre and other NIL groups are about more than recruiting new players. They work with coaches to help keep current players from leaving.
Right now, good players on every team are being targeted by other teams. NCAA just opened NIL and transfer portal at the same time with no idea of the ramifications to the game. It gives us a lot to talk about.

But not equal NILs.

I’d say all the big boys are pretty similar so just about everyone is recruiting the same. You have outliers like Miami but for the most part.

Maybe people are upset bc they thought you could just buy a bunch of players and thought all of them wanted just money.

Smart players know where they are going before they enter the portal. They have thought it through and considered both fit with a new program/position coach and money.
Players who visit multiple schools after entering portal are either looking for highest bidder or are not high demand players.

Reading between the lines on Baron. It seems like he didn’t get the feedback he was looking for when it comes to the draft and we have young talent behind him so we probably are not looking to pay him what he wants. I think he had a good year but he seems close to his ceiling and the guys behind him have more potential. If we pay him to stay, someone else will probably leave.

Zero insider knowledge, just a guess and something to talk about besides all the sky is falling nonsense.

Yeah he prob wants to get paid. Good for him, go make that money

That is just strange. Why would he transfer?
this is from when it was brought up on Monday.

AP hinted at it happening and said he's just chasing the biggest bag before he goes pro. May still end up back here, trying to recreate what got him paid last year.

There are a lot of teams that need to replace talent they're losing, so the market for a good DL is pretty high right now.

This is a possible scenario that makes lots of sense

This makes the most sense. Still hate to see a TN guy leave, but I understand.
