Reading between the lines on Baron. It seems like he didn’t get the feedback he was looking for when it comes to the draft and we have young talent behind him so we probably are not looking to pay him what he wants. I think he had a good year but he seems close to his ceiling and the guys behind him have more potential. If we pay him to stay, someone else will probably leave.

Zero insider knowledge, just a guess and something to talk about besides all the sky is falling nonsense.

Some of the very good college players will never play in NFL. They will graduate college and start out making $40,000-50,000 per year in the real world maybe.
It make sense for them to try to sell their football services to highest bidder for a couple of years.

I dont get how he doesn't just go pro.

Another annoying thing is if he transfers then goes to the NFL, his NFL bio won't say he went to Tennessee. We won't be able to claim him as a Vol in the NFL.

The dude is really good I seriously don't get how he doesn't just go pro, I'm sure he will test well.

Yeah I'm sure he did.

Just doesn't make sense with the NFL's track record of discriminating against older players.

Who knows what they told him, but I'm sure NIL is a big factor in making him consider returning to college.

I mean, I think the younger guys will be an upgrade at CB, but we need (experienced) depth in our secondary. He was best at Nickel and Safety. I liked having him to plug in for certain situations, or in case of injury.

Hopefully we can use this as an opportunity to improve the roster.

My take on this is you have a certain number of players that are older on this team that had the option to either turn pro or come back. All of these older players are asking for a pretty large number in NIL imo and so decisions have to be made on both sides. It’s why you seen some of them return and some of them now leave.

Or maybe he can say whatever he wants to say because he has an opinion like everyone else. And I agree with him. We do need to shut the hell up publicly, our fan base, and many fan bases for that matter show very low emotional intelligence.

Yeah he can, and we can too. He gets paid to play football. So if he isn’t good we are going to voice our opinions. Without the fans, they have nothing. So telling the hand that feeds they are low intelligence and to shut up is really smart.

I’m all for all the junior and senior secondary guys leaving.

Slaughter might’ve been out best corner after Hadden went down, but that doesn’t mean he was a good or natural corner. I’ll not miss seeing him bite on out and ups.
