This hits hard. His time on the Wake Up Zone further endeared him to so many sports fans. Just a fantastic regular guy who loved sports and could talk about football in a way that everyone understood. He stepped away from broadcasting because of CTE, and it saddens me to hear his cause of death being brain trauma.
It all goes back to player safety. Play the game, but protect the players as much as possible. If Wycheck’s brain could’ve been better protected, he would still be alive.
