Recruiting Football Talk VII

So, you're handpicking worry over the fact the rankings don't include the returning 4 and 5 year veterans on the OL and DL for UT?

Seems like you can't help yourself in looking for any angle to show how bad we are...weird.
Well recruiting typically means players coming in, not players you already have. I could be mistaken though.

From the guy that absolutely never takes shots at the negas (when he easily could) and, yes, has one of the clearest views of the inside workings of UT football, Heupel, and why we do what we do...

Yes. Lock all visitors in the equipment closet until commitments are secured.

This ain’t difficult, people.

I guess you’re right. We technically can.
No, I meant we aren't that close.

We have the 5th highest average recruits in the NEW SEC lol.

Above the OOC likes of Michigan, Penn St, Clemson, USC.

Texas is a mere .3 ahead of us for 4th place. We're well ahead of OU, who's easily outrecruited us for the last decade+. I guess Florida is ahead, but it won't matter in 10 months. We've closed the gap on Alabama from annually being 4, 5, 6 points behind to currently 1 point. My god what progess.

I understand all that. South Carolina is a point or a little more behind us. That’s close, was my point.

I get quality over quantity, but it seems like we’ve sacrificed quantity entirely for quality. And in a game like football where a season changing injury is just a play away, I think you need a healthy dose of both.

*Vols get #1 TE in the portal while also having a dozen or so recruits from HS and portal on campus this week/weekend and will most likely finish Top 10 in recruiting*

Christian Lowe: "I think I'll contort recruiting rankings in a way that makes it look like we are  losing the offseason to South Carolina despite the fact USC lost half their team to the portal and our class is actually better anyway."
Mind bottling

I wonder if anyone tracks the amount of P5 players that enter the portal and just never find another school. I’m sure it’s far from 0.

You should try paying attention to avg recruit ranking, like I said to you the other day

Do you guys and others realize our recruiting average is going to likely plummet as the classes closes?

Look at who else were seriously in on:

Sensabaugh (.86),
Wallace (unranked),
the Kent State commit (unranked)
Cole Harrison (.84)
Rodriguez (.87)

You’re arguing against me with things you think will happen, not anything that already has. Aside from Staes.

They’ll switch from the quality argument back to the “we need depth” argument, and make it sound pretty despite the fact we’ll be in the lower half of the SEC in the recruiting rankings.
