WRs unable to catch a cold was the main reason the offense wasn't like last year's
Also include WRs not getting open but ultimately It was a perfect storm. Compared to 2022: QB not as good, WRs not as good, Oline not as good, Coaching not as good all leads to being 40th in points per game compared to 1st in the country the prior year.

Joe made those intermediate throws in the bowl game with no issues. The million sideline throws was something that started in game 1. That was the gameplan. Nothing to do with him not being able to make other throws or no game evidence that he couldnt. Throwing over the middle of the field was one of Joe's strengths going into the season.
he made 1-2 but not many….. take away the two bombs and he averaged less than 6 ypa…. that is the problem…. he couldn’t efficiently move the football.

charlie strong sucks and plays a bland style of football…. perfect choice bringing in the veer and shoot….. It wears out bad teams.
Charlie Strong was a DC playing HC , fail from the beginning...

Texas tried him, fired...then USF gave him a go..Fired..

The trend was set..

This offense is taught to the QB’s, and they make decisions based on the defensive alignment. I guess some plays could come in when we slow it down, and they look over. But the teaching is done preseason and in practice. It’s all option routes based on alignment. I just don’t believe the offense changed a whole lot from year to year. The players did.

Are you trying to say that Milton called plays?

Everything not on Joe. Was he Hendon? No. Was he JG? No. Go look at his numbers, he actually had a solid year despite everyone blaming all our failures on him. I've said all season our play calling and gameplans were lacking. That's on the coaches.
Joe was the best he's been his entire career and he did have a solid year statistically. I'm happy for him getting to start the entire season and he definitely showed improvement. I hope he gets drafted and has a long career in the NFL. I like Joe and I'm not blaming him for every failure this season.

That being said, the coaches were limited in what they could run on offense. You don't have to believe it, but that's absolutely the case. That doesn't mean the coaches always made the right call and every instance of failure was Joe's fault...but they had to shrink the offense down a lot. Don't be shocked next year when the play calling and gameplans magically look more like we saw Heupel's first two seasons.

Charlie Strongs not good but if USF was a easy job he should have been better than a .568 winning percentage. Basically the only coach to have a lot of success was the first coach in the programs history and he brought the team to D1 and through some bad conferences. Charlie Strong has the 2nd highest winning percentage in program history.
