Would love to hear who people think the moon is?No, he won't likely be the first call. They'll shoot for the moon initially. But as another poster said, following Saban won't be particularly enticing for the upper echelon of college coaches. So while Kiffin won't probably be the first call, he might be the first one to say yes because he has just the right blend of arrogance and ability to agree to it. And he'd do well there. Just not Saban well.
This is an enemy commentator (UGA), but he probably brings some of the best film and player evals of any YouTube person in the space. IMO. At 1:21 he talks about the stakes of the UT QB play in our bowl. It is brief snip, but worth a listen. His stance is this may be a harder freshman start than Bama or UGA due to the expertly disguised zone coverage Iowa runs. He says if Nico plays anything other than trash, he'll be calling him potentially the dude. He's had our number in recent years both positive and our negatives, so this is high praise, but also a warning in case Nico has a rough go.
He also made a wise case on why Milton would want no part in facing a stout NFL style defense prior to likely being the talk of the combine.
He’s more likely to end up at UF and he would succeed there.Wouldn’t call Kiffin “scraping the bottom”
You dislike him, fine, say that, but Kiffin would be really successful at Bama. He wouldn’t be Saban good, but he would definitely win a natty, maybe two.
If Dabo can win a natty with Clemson, Kiffin can 100% win one at Bama. He’s already showing he can win at lesser schools.
It’s certainly a possibility, but isn’t his ex’s family affiliated somehow at Florida? Maybe it wouldn’t be a factor, but it might. And you’re right…he’d kill it there. He’s more likely to end up at UF and he would succeed there.
When the personal grudge many Tennessee fans hold for Lane is set aside, you can clearly see him rising as an elite coach in the SEC. He’ll be a great fit at Bama, and is already familiar with their culture. He’s accepted by their fan base. Personally, I’d hate to see it, because I believe he’d be a massive success there. But…to each his own. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
