"Play calling"...I am so sick of this....Heupel did not forget how to call plays after years and years of running top 5 offenses....if you really think he suddenly forgot how to offense, then you are dumb.

They called the plays designed for the talent they had to work with...several guys, mainly one guy...we're not able to EXECUTE at a high level, it's not their fault...they just don't have the ability.

It will both amuse and anger me when the offense starts executing at a top 5 level again with guys that are capable of it, and all of you start yapping about the "Play calling" suddenly being better.

If Heupel really suddenly forgot how to matriculate the ball down the field and into the end zone....then we really are absolutely screwed.
Hard to understand why this is hard to understand.

unless there is just a huge red flag, like with hendon's injury. he will 100% get drafted in those rounds. nfl likes that emotional, firey mentality. his upside is way too high.

Last years offensive 'woes' if you want to call it that, were not 100% on Joe. Play calling, Joe not running to set up throw, not going fast/too many penalties in key situations...

but biggest thing to me. And I hate to dog our guys. But we no difference makers on offense at R. Even Bru isnt dynamic enough to scores TD's routinely.
Had they called the plays they wanted to, Joe wouldn't be in the draft discussion.

Milton was terrible, just ask some of the posters here
For the record I have not said Milton was "terrible"...I have said he was a mediocre-good QB that is just not capable of executing this offense to its highest level...especially against the really good defenses that are able to force winning the game onto his arm.

Huepel harred a new guy to call plays, some of them good. Some of them not so good. We farred him midway through the season, but then re-harred him because he's a first year guy.

Having watched USF in their bowl game, reminds me of hwhat tempo can do. And we didnt do that.

Listen I think there's plenty of blame to go around, I just dont think its all Joe's fault. Some of its his, for sure. The WR room just wasnt very talented.

Kansas only had 55 penalties all season. Completely reasonable to go from 4.5 flags per game to 18 in one game, right? Surely. Nothing fishy at all!
"Nothing to see here you paranoid tinfoil hat wearer, this is just basic incompetence, not purposeful corrupt manipulation....how would they get away with it?"

Inb4 the blind fool fantasylanders...

He was flawed and certainly affected some of the capabilities of the offense. He also did some other things well and operated perfectly fine when everything was on script. Fans just refuse to move past the flaws when creating their opinion of him. The line from Vegas experts certainly do not lend credence to the UT fans that say he is terrible and Nico should have started all season. Vegas thinks UT was better with Milton at QB. It's like a basketball player that plays good defense, communicates well, handles the ball well, doesn't turn it over, but he can't shoot from the perimeter. He limits the effectiveness of the offense but he also helps the team win games. If the roster had a player that could do what he did and also could shoot then you replace him.
Bingo

He has all world talent. But refuses to use it. Er, leans on it too much.

Add in WR's that were also mediocre. And play calling at times wasnt as good as its been, execution of certainly was abysmal.

Best game we played was versus Vandy, on offense. And the TE's were our best weapons, in the air.

Sure there’s always some bias. And I’m not an “go SEC!” guy by any stretch of the imagination. But it’s the best conference. It has the best players. Some of the best coaches in America.

Year in and year out, the conference is the best in college football.
I hate every other team in the SEC...so I pretty much hate the SEC...but this is actually just the truth.

I think a good idea for all message boards is to shut down during games and not reopen till an hour after the game concludes. Looking back, I have seen very good posters make very bad posts (sometimes distasteful) during and immediately after a game.
The fact that most here have been imbibing since 2-4 hours before the game starts definitely has nothing to do with that..lol.

Wide receivers were a huge step back from the previous year. If you add in all the pregnancy penalties with all the drops and bad routes, we were constantly putting ourselves behind the eightball.

I'm with you. I have varying levels of dislike for all other SEC teams. Folks at work couldn't understand why I'm not pulling for Alabama in the playoffs.

"Aren't you an SEC fan?" they asked.

"No I'm not. I'm a Tennessee fan." I replied.

Seems simple to me. I have Power Ts in my office and on my car. I don't have the SEC logo hanging around anywhere.

Also....you watched one USF game and came to this conclusion...your opinion would be much different if you had watched them in the games they really struggled..

I just will NEVER believe that Josh Heupel would give the keys to his beautiful Ferrari to a guy that could only crash it all the time.

The problem ain't the play calling period...and yes you can go look and post examples, and then I will go look and post examples of ineffective calls from last year when we had the f'n #1 offense.

The problem ain't the play caller...it's the play runners not being able to execute at as high a level.
