I was a Sixers fan back then and despised the Celtics. Now I look back at the Bird, McHale, Parrish era and marvel at the superb basketball on display. Bird was a freaking assassin. No better smack talker and worse, he always backed it up.

Celtics vs Lakers matchups were classic..

I do think fans should recognize that we benefit if our conference whips that proverbial ass. I am not proposing anyone root for an arch rival, but us beating up rival conferences helps us in negotiations and recruitment. There is no debating that aspect, only your hatred for our rivals, which is more than fair.

And our rivals, SEC opponents winning is really only better for them (not us) in recruiting since we (mostly) battle a number of them for the same recruits vs those in other conferences.

So I will say again, screw the SEC (except TN)!

If you did do a feeder program partnership you could purposely have your freshman linemen recruited to start there under a full NIL. That way they get game reps and are ready next season and just portal over.

It would be weird, but if you set aside the pride of signing with smaller school this could be wildly lucrative and successful for players and schools. The NILs now allow a collusion of sorts.

The more I consider the game, the more sure I feel the OL will be our deciding factor.

We have 2 green RBs, Sampson a bit on the smaller/less of a blocker side than Small was. Seldon just too new to know how well he can block against a really good defense. Not worried about his size/physicality, but the recognition and anticipation side is tough without more experience.

That could complicate things for Nico if our OL can't pass block extremely well.

Imo Nico will need a very cognizant timer in his head and then just take off - whether vertically or horizontally to extend the play - if it's not there.

From Iowa's words, it almost sounds like they may spy him some. Seem worried about his legs, as they should be.

It will be interesting to see how we attack knowing all of this. Could we make some pop passes, TEs streaking vertical passes, or RPOs across the middle to punish them for filling the box up-close (where we just put it over their heads into an open secondary)? Do we run jet sweeps?

The only thing I know for sure is we'll see plenty of sideline screens

I hope Tennessee is the only SEC team to win a bowl game with maybe the exception of Bama beating Michigan bc I hat Michigan so bad but if the SEC went 1-8 with Tennessee being the one win I would be happier then hell

I personally want michigan to totally embarrass bama to the point that the Playoffs committee has to issue a public apology to Florida State. I want them to then find out (very publicly) that michigan had all of bama’s signals.

Then they get penalized by having to forfeit their entire season and every win with harbaugh.

Oh and I hope that Washington totally and absolutely destroys texas in every aspect of their game.

You seem like a good guy DD, but there is no way I'm cheering for another Bama title. I don't see how Saban holding another Championship trophy over his grinning head helps us on any level.

I think the argument that SEC teams dominating bowl games helps maintain SEC bias in the playoff committee holds more water than the idea that some non-playoff bowl game makes a tangible impact on recruiting somehow.

Regardless, everyone can rest assured that what they want to happen has no effect on the outcome lol.

I thought Yellowstone was overrated. Smelly. Some great sites, but I expected more. I've never heard it described as blue collar, there were a million tourists all looking exactly identical to each other and doing stereotypical tourist things.

Grand Tetons on the other hand. I'll never forget that. I wish I could go back and spend fewer days in Yellowstone and more there.

I've heard Glacier puts both to shame.

Id also like to throw Crater Lake in there, as bucket.

Watching these bowl games there is one thing that drives me crazy!

Every time a defensive player makes even a routine play they celebrate like they just won the Super Bowl! Hope we don’t do it Monday!
