Recruiting Football Talk VII

should not referee again. Why would the lineman talk to the ref? Asking what he got for Christmas from Jerry Jones. In sports it seems like the same teams continue to get the non call/all the calls for them. Wait till no refs and everything computer/robotic
He admitted he only said one word to the ref ("report," I feel like 68 isn't very smart if he wasn't able to even form a complete sentence to communicate to the ref). I agree the ref screwed up, but it wasn't as cut and dry as video made it look. Remember 58 was standing next to the ref too, and he wasn't reporting himself as eligible, so acting like standing next to the ref is all the evidence you need isn't quite enough. The ref assumed both were reporting 70 as eligible (he pointed at him).

Huge screw up for sure by assuming instead of taking a second to clarify, but I wouldn't go so far as "should never ref again."

These leagues will never last unless the NFL outright labels it as a developmemtal league for the NFL.
They were both pretty successful last year. The nfl is endorsing them. Ratings were better than expected. I think they have potential, especially now that there's just one, so the talent isn't split.

That experiment blows my mind.
If you want to see a physicist lose his mind ask him to explain the measurement problem
Remember Feynman saying something to the effect... That all we know, and can know, is in the double slit experiment

A couple weeks ago, Justin Fields threw a pass and a Browns player ran past the same ref and leveled the QB. No call as flies buzzed in and out of his mouth.

Every player paid the same amount I believe, was like $45000 last season per player....

The perception that SEC is THE dominant conference is why Bama got in over FSU. Winning bowl season is a portion of creating that perception. Next year that perception could very well benefit us, though admittedly a 12 team playoff makes it less important.

Still, that perception isn't an overplayed sentiment. It matters. Nobody has debated the SEC dominance for 2 decades in part because the SEC has performed well against other conferences' teams in the post season. If several years went by where the SEC performed poorly in the post season, that dominance perception would diminish and we wouldn't get the benefits of that perception.
lol. We haven’t benefited from that at all and now with a 12 team playoff we won’t need to. If we do what we set out to do we’ll be fine. Double digit wins and you’re in the playoff.

Happy New year, LA.

Your points are exactly why I don't put any faith in the legitacy of college football. It's completely scripted, imo. They know who is going to win the championship before the first kickoff of the season.

I don’t know if it’s THAT scripted, but it certainly lacks integrity. The sport is corrupt and has been for years. Now that more money than ever is involved, the screw jobs will just continue to get worse.
