Why would you ever field a punt in your own endzone
The Chiefs just seem like badly coached team right now. Andy Reid is a great players coach, but despite sounding like a broken record at every press conference, he doesn't seem to be getting it cleaned up. Lots of infighting, tons of drops, lining up offsides, tons of penalties. Its been a very long second half of the season.

I believe that the committee, like most of us, deals in probabilities. They didn't need to know for a fact that FSU had zero chance to be successful in this year's playoffs. All they needed was to decide that four other teams had a better chance to be successful in the playoffs.

Re the 2nd part, I'm not talking about Alabama or Georgia here, just FSU.
Bet you'd feel different if an undefeated Georgia was left out because Beck was hurt. Or Bowers.

Here's a hypothetical. Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC CG but loses Beck to injury. Is the committee justified in leaving an undefeated Georgia out of the playoffs in that instance?

Sure, they should quit regular season games too when they don't mean anything right?

"It's all about me" - team means nothing
Because players opt out of 1 freaking game to prepare for draft doesn't mean they quit on team..

But since you brought it up,( it's all about me )

That's why the portal is so active looking for that NIL,which is all about me...

Food for thought.

FSU is considering paying $120 million buyout to the ACC to possibly get this treatment during the regular season (not even an away game).

Those thoughts and actions must be brutally sobering for the BOT and boosters right about now. You're not ready for the SEC.

lol FSU would hold their own in the SEC. So would Ohio State. So would Michigan. So will Texas and Oklahoma.

It absolutely means they quit. How does it not mean that? Why can't a player quit 7 games into the season if they are not going to a championship game? That's your logic

" Prepare for the draft" is the biggest BS.
How did players years ago ever prepare for the draft when the had that annoying bowl game in the way ?

The committee sells us a load of sh&t…. It is all based on money…. there is more money to be made with Alabama than a wounded Fla State team.

I think he’s saying if he ever thinks putting yourself above your team is a good decision, he’ll know he’s done with sports.
I think I got that. It's just as a response to the post it quoted, I'm just curious how he/she may translate that to rest of his/her life. If he/she is reckless with their own future earning potential for the sake of others.

I know this is just about how we each view sports, but I'm sure the ones putting themselves on the line need to view it as a business.

I didnt say a damn word about the championship, could careless about that situation...
Tired of people putting 21-22 year old women and men down for making life decisions in sports..

If was NFL where they get paid a hell of a lot more ,I would agree about the quitting BS as you say...

They don't quit 7 games in because it would likely hurt their chances on that College team, and other college teams, thus they'd be sabotaging their chances of proving themselves to the NFL, which is the goal for many/most of these guys.

Again, this is career progression for these guys. It's easy for us as fans to romanticize it and start telling them what to do with their own bodies and earning potentials.
