Agree with those who feel getting some OL in the offseason is a must. Ollie Lane and Dayne Davis should never see the field other than in mop up time. The fact they started yesterday was ridiculous and extremely concerning going forward. It showed there’s absolutely no depth on the OL. Heupel and Elarbee better address it in the offseason. Our starting 5 are solid but you are going to find yourself in a world of trouble if you have to start or give a lot of minutes to guys like Lane, Davis and Lampley next season. Protecting Nico should be the #1 priority.

Myself and others on here have pointed out the lack of finishing with upper tier/Blue Chip OL/DL players in two to three cycles. And how we knew that would be an issue.

Yet here we are...

You're right they do need to fix it.

That said, very excited for the future. But you have to beef up the lines.

Well, if we're wasting time and energy melting today. I'll just add this. If issues are as AP, and resident 'experts' say and we cant get transfers to come here bc OL and DL rooms are clogged.

Then, we must purge those rooms.

I want coaches comin' out of SP all...View attachment 606906
I don't think the DL room is clogged. We just play a lot of guys. I think everyone played except for 2 or 3 true freshmen that need development.

Yeah why are so many people overreacting to the bad o-line play? Let's just not acknowledge how we were basically down 4 starters. (Mincey out of position) Against a really good defense no less.

The only way we see a patchwork o-line like that is if 3-4 starters get hurt and that pretty much ruins any offensive line. Not even Bama, UGA, Michigan or Ohio State will have a good o-line if they loss over half their starters.

We have four starters back, some experienced old guys and an entire offseason of development for for the youngins.

Just throwing this out there, Lampley was our highest graded lineman. Dude played pretty well.

Tennessee has cheated a lot…. i continue to root for us
The fact that you just equated what we have done with the industrial level of cheating with ABSOLUTE impunity that Alabama has gotten away with over the last 15 years is a f'n stupid ass joke man..

Come on..

With West & Hobbs I don’t think I’d say DL has been a concern recruiting wise, especially if you count the “edge” guys we’ve landed too. I do think you’ll see a bit more work on DL in the 25 class with quite a few guys leaving after 24 season.

But a good bit of young talent waiting to play.

West - Sophomore
Hobbs, Weathersby, Jenkins, Robinson, Duncan - Freshman

Lindstrom, Heard, Gentle, Wallace - incoming

That’s just the DL guys, talent at Edge is even better with everyone being a 4 star (Pearce, Josephs, Herring, Bradley) and a 5 star incoming guy in Ross.

So how many spots do we have/can we still get from the portal? Obviously we need another Olineman and need to close on Stewart or another upper tier WR... Really stinks LSU slid in on McKinley--- pretty unsettling and a bit telling that we were in the thick of this one and then out of the blue he cancels his scheduled visit and commits to LSU... Thought CRG would have made a bigger push.

i respect Harbaugh for it…. pulled some crazy stuff…. didn’t back down to the NCAA…. stood his ground and told them to suck it.
This blows my mind...I f'n hate what he did...it says a lot about your character that I did not suspect before that you just admitted to applauding what Michigan did...that's disgusting.

I know you hate the NCAA...but he f'n screwed opposing kids over by "on the field" cheating on a MASSIVE level.

With today’s NIL I don’t think total numbers are an issue. They just pay a players way with NIL money, and call him a walk on.

i was close to the program during the 90’s….we did more than our share.
I know some 💩 myself...we have never been able to do what they have been let get away with since Saban and his pet monkeys in Birmingham took over the SEC 15 years ago....nobody outside of UGA, Clemson and OSU has been able to it to that level and with absolute immunity.

I didn’t say I applauded it…. I respect it bc he did it and still won’t back down.. If the NCAA even half way cared about a fair and even system then i would feel differently…. Until then… anything goes, imo.

I agree..the sum of bad OL play is greater than 3-4 so called bad players.

He didn't screw over the AA...he screwed over opposing PLAYERS on the field....no justification or understanding for this take from you...this is a disgusting take.

Yeah I’m sure you did.

OT always favored Michigan because BAMA's OL was absolutely awful at pass pro. They made our patchwork OL look good. That really left BAMA with only the run on a short field. I'm just glad Washington won their game. I want them to win it all.
