Spencer Riley, VFL and National Champion Tennessee linemen has a different perspective about our OL than what most on VolNation are stating. The YouTube video is below.
I know many don't like Dave Hooker, but I like Spencer's assessment of the players. Spencer comes online at the 3:15 mark. I value Spencer's assessment given his experience as a player and coach.
Agreed. I was talking more about the ones stating that our OL was hot garbage.I feel like they are saying what is being said on here. OL played three players who aren’t SeC level. And our starting line will be very good next year when we have everyone back from injury. Problem still exists though with having zero depth and hoping no injuries happen.
Lot of words to get to he’s getting drummed out of college football for “telling the NCAA to suck it.” No amount of wordplay is convincing me that Boyd, Plowman and White are COWARDS for doing it right…and history won’t portray them as such.None of that matters…
1. He is Guilty
2. He still gets to play for a NC
3. His punishment will be millions of dollars in the NFL or millions of dollars at Michigan( I really hope he stays so I can see if the NCAA has the balls to do any real punishment)
Let’s look at history:
1. B Pearl lied about a hotdog….. 3 yr show cause compared to F Haith paying players…. paid a booster to lie to the NCAA…. gave inconsistent statements to NCAA( also known as lying but worded in a way that didn’t end in a show cause)… He received a massive five game suspension as he ran to Missouri where he committed more violations and received new letter of allegations so he immediately leaves to become Head coach at Tulsa. He was not punished for the missouri issues.
2. Bill Self wore a shirt mocking the NCAA….. held an event with stripper poles and had snoop Dogg shoot fake money into the crowd…. won a championship
3. Auburn won a championship… no repercussions
4. NC won multiple championships with no repercussions.
I could continue on and on.
i am all for integrity in sports but i am not going to falsely believe that it happens… i am also for any school that tells the NCAA to shove it… Not many schools have the guts to follow through with it.
Not to mention probably screwed TN out of a playoff spot last year because of the South Carolina game. The NCAA is protecting him to get MI in the playoffs. This blows my mind...I f'n hate what he did...it says a lot about your character that I did not suspect before that you just admitted to applauding what Michigan did...that's disgusting.
I know you hate the NCAA...but he f'n screwed opposing kids over by "on the field" cheating on a MASSIVE level.
Been a fan of DeBoer’s process the last two seasons. As good as Peterson was, he’s a step up imo…and that’s high praise. I hope he’s found his long term home, because that program is easy to root for. Compare their post-game celebration to Michigan’s. Much as I detest Bama, Michigan players mocking the stereotypes reflects the pettiness of their HC.I am the perfect example of what not to do on a message board. I did not watch a single Pac 12 game this year with exception of Colorado losing their first game. This means I should not comment whatsoever about their conference. I was wrong about Washington. They’ve got guts and I hope they pull in a Natty next week. On the same token I watch almost every SEC game. So, I know a lot about our conference, and I was 100% correct about Alabama. They are who I thought they were. An inconsistent team with an inconsistent quarterback. The improvements that they made in the second half of the year were all created by the media in your minds. The Arkansas and Auburn games told us they were the same team as the first half of the year with exception of running their QB more. They were lucky to catch Georgia in an off game and I’m glad they did. Otherwise, we’d be watching Georgia win their third consecutive national championship. It all worked out perfect. Go, Huskies!
Either of the uga LBs woulda been nice, and edge players. Lbs went to uk and arky, edges to mizzou and fsu.Biggest concern to me is OL and LB. LB still look slow. Wouldn’t mind a portal. I wish they would have gotten the UGA LB. We better pray Carter grows up quick for next year and Pili stays healthy.
Washington, Michigan, and Clemson don't play in the SEC. They have all recruited well relative to their conference.Clemson already debunked this myth twice but everyone ignores it
Numbers are tight. I'd look for stud OL to protect Nico. If Bru and Thornton are back healthy, with the addition of the Tulane WR, WR should work itself out. I mean, Nico was sacked by one of his OL yesterday.agreed
i dont see how ppl watched these receivers this yr after Bru got hurt and really think we dont need more upgrades there. Put the best around Nico in 2024 that you possibly can should always be the plan.
They prolly need to close on more 5 stars. In fairness to Milroe, Bama's O-line was embarassing themselves all night. He had no confidence in his center's snap, chased it all night. The O-line was clueless on who to block in pass pro. All of that messed up his confidence. But it also appeared the game was way too big for him, he was really tentative at times.
100% agree on our style of play and the players. I love where all this is headed.
100% on Alabama...EXTREMELY loaded with obviously elite talent all over the roster, but not developed very well at several positions, so they get inconsistent results...sometimes that talent shines through brightly, sometimes looks like sloppy seconds.I am the perfect example of what not to do on a message board. I did not watch a single Pac 12 game this year with exception of Colorado losing their first game. This means I should not comment whatsoever about their conference. I was wrong about Washington. 2025 worries me for both lines. I do think we have some guys on the OL that can develop into starters by then, but depth would still be a huge issue. Feel the same about the DL, where being able to rotate players is so important to how we play defense. I worry the greatness of Nico might not be able to overcome the deficiencies at other positions.Responding to a poster saying the OL is not a problem:
