It’s call not being good recruiter on ol and other positions. We are going to have to recruit like Alabama, Georgia, lsu etc to ever compete and you are right have a great qb and can’t protect him or get open
Our OL was top notch in 2023. This year it was solid as well, especially in running.

Elarbee can do a lot of wonders. We just have to be as good as we were in 2023 really. Especially with Nico's legs. Washington apparently did well enough, as did fsu. We do have to continue to recruit well, but we don't NEED bama/uga level. Especially with 12 teams when development over the season is just as important and you don't have to be top notch off the bat every season.

If we don’t outscore the other team, we don’t win the game, right? If we don’t win the games, we don’t win a championship, right?

(Giving you a hard time🤪)
Yes. That was an odd post. It's the entire object of the game: outscore the opponent. There are two complimentary sides to that coin. The defense tries to limit how much the other team scores while the offense tries to score as much as possible.

Most posters on here are so focused on the immediate future. All the while Heup is playing the long game and building a program. Ole Piss pushing all their chips in for necks year hoping to bring in enough talent to force a NC. Heup is trying to set up a juggernaut but he is having to build it from ashes. Some of us may not have to disposition to handle it and maybe other hobbies should be considered.

No one in the country besides maybe TX and OSU (and even they are behind them) recruits like Bama and UGA.

LSU has the 8th ranked class with 29 commits and 90.8 player avg.

Vols are 13th with 21 commits and 91.7 player avg.

We couldn’t take 29 commits.

While also clearly building for a title run in 24' considering who we are retaining, who we have gotten and who we are trying to get in the portal.

Yeah its not perfect, but I'm pretty sure every year we've gotten guys out of the portal we have filled the positions of need.

We don't have to panic yet, it's not over.

I don't see the concern as others on the OL presently. The bowl game didn't Samson rush over 100 ypg against a Top 10 defense? Most of the sacks was Nico holding the ball too long and some could have been prevented but he will learn that with growth and adjusting to college speed.

Campbell is back and so is Mays and Lampley played well in the bowl game and if Spraggins comes back and Davis with all the freshman and Soph's and they are high on Grant too. Surely some of the younger OL will develop as they get older and stronger in S&C program. I do believe we need at least a left guard because not sure the Texas transfer is going to work out and probably need one OT but there is still lots of transfers out there and will be more in the spring.
Not just holding the ball too long. Nico ran into tackles, probably because he's used to being the best player on high school fields and needs to get used to the idea that he can't flash and juke his way around big time rushers.

Settle down, trust the pocket a little more, and get rid of the ball before you get sacked. lol

Brother it is year 4 with an elite type QB. These two years are as good as chance as we're going to have and we're gonna trot out Dayne Davis at RT

I am fairly certain Dayne is out of eligibility, so you are probably fretting and worrying needlessly.
"Has two years of remaining eligibility, including this season." Nope. And this isn't fretting or worrying, it's just concern that our $8 million dollar Bryce Young will be running for his life next season and take a season ending sack.

I couldn't care less about Echols, but I do care about Dayne Davis potentially protecting Nico next year.
Then you’re not part of this discussion. I’m addressing the doomsayers who saw Echols going to USF and declared Abeln a fraud. As far as Davis, I don’t see the downgrade from Mincey quite honestly…and that’s assuming Davis beats out other candidates.

Bennett Warren - OT - TX - 4 star
William Satterwhite - IOL - OH - 4 star
Max Anderson - IOL - TX - 4 star
Gage Ginther - OT - CO - 4 star
Jesse Perry - OL - TN - 3 star from a very small school

That seems like some pretty good OL cruitin to me. Maybe we all back up from the ledge a little bit before we start farhin one of the best OL coaches we have had in 20 years.
It is good. No complaints with this year’s group of lineman. I think most people’s reasonable concerns are that none of those guys are likely ready until Nico is gone. We only have a one year stop gap on the line with the guys coming back and no buffer at all at RT. As we have learned this year, anytime a good OT/OL goes into the portal, big names are always going to be interested. There is no guarantee we hit in the portal next year, either.

I get that OL is a spot where it is good for guys to have some level of trust with one another, but we have good players on our roster. Some of them are just now heading into their sophomore years. It is entirely likely that some of them take starting and back up rolls that they weren't quite ready for yet. It is frustrating to see posters calling our coaches trash for not closing or wanting to replace them when we have just had 3 of the most successful years in the last 20. We are #1 in recruiting and we didn't make the playoffs so we have to burn it to the ground and start over is exactly why we have had to watch out football team stumble and struggle for two decades while other teams and fan bases laughed at us. Folks need to relax. In recruiting, you win some but you lose a lot more. I am not in sales but I do know that salesmen get told no a lot more than they hear a yes, but the yeses are the ones that matter.
