The coaching staff is not absolved from any criticism just because of the circumstances they came into. They are getting paid handsomely. We've seen a recurring issue with recruiting high level players and our staff's inability to close. There is not a single HS recruit that has played in 4 years on the OL from Ellarbee. That's concerning. Plenty of other staffs would love to have our NIL program.

We have glaring holes on the OL and targeted our top 3 guys, only to whiff on all 3 when reportedly NIL is not an issue here. That's a red flag. Part of Fulmer's downfall was staying with ineffective coaches. Having some staff turnover is a good thing when expectations are not being met.

Most posters on here are so focused on the immediate future. All the while Heup is playing the long game and building a program. Ole Piss pushing all their chips in for necks year hoping to bring in enough talent to force a NC. Heup is trying to set up a juggernaut but he is having to build it from ashes. Some of us may not have to disposition to handle it and maybe other hobbies should be considered.

These idiots don't understand one simple but HUGE fact...if they do what others are doing and overpay for decent but not great talent...they will then have to overpay literally everyone on the roster because that is the quickest path to locker room culture hell..

Do the dumbasses not understand the simple truth?...there is a finite amount of resources available...the AD, Heupel and Spyre have chose a path...and that path is not the "go all in stupidly for RiGHT now" path.

Just got home and my sons wife lost her baby Josie at 31 weeks. We are at a loss for words. His wife did not think she would be able to get pregnant or she was told as she continues a thyroid cancer battle and everything was going really well. A little VN prayer or a thought today for that little girl and the family if a moment.

I talk regularly with a P5 OL coach. The transfer OTs know they are in high demand and most have unreasonable NIL demands. In addition many want to be promised to play LT. That combination makes recruiting more difficult, especially if you have a proven LT.
Many also want to be promised they will start. These circumstances can lead to terrible morale within the position group when you overpay for someone who has not proven to put in the work and be a good teammate.

Exactly...people would already understand that if they would use their adult brain instead of acting like pissed off bratty 4th child 7 year olds that don't understand why you didn't buy them that $10,000 4-wheeler for Christmas....when they got 3 older siblings and the parents only bring home 50g a year..

We honestly have 3 ?’s on the OL heading into next year: RT, and the guard positions. While we think and assume Spraggins comes back, he still hasn’t said anything definite. Even if he DOES come back, who’s to say he will be the same? Took Hooker a year before being able to dress out from his ACL, Ziegler Didnt get into stride until a few weeks ago, it usually takes 10-12 months for a player to fully recover from an ACL, that would put Spraggs at late September through November range

Assume you mean just this season since last year we were awesome at everything.

Gave up 24 sacks this year. Only UGA (13), LSU & UK (22 for both) gave up less in the conference. Passing game could’ve definitely been better but there were plenty of issues to go around in that regard.

That’s with our starting line mostly in tact. We saw what it looked like in the bowl game without all the starters.
