Disagree . I'd hate being the coach that follows Saban. Everyone can pay players now. Bama just lost the rest of its clout when Saban retired. The other half when NIL came along

Next season will be our best chance to make the playoffs with Nico. After next season we lose a lot of DL, 3 key OL, and probably James Pearce. 2025 will be a rough season with almost new DL and OL.

It's a good job, but the expectations are unachievably high. The risk of failure is very real and rational people know that. That may give pause.

Before Saban we were almost caught back up to them...he was just given license to cheat with impunity on the field and off by the SEC.

It’s definitely frustrating at times. Especially seeing no play design and ZZ chucking up a deeeep 3 with what 9 seconds left? It’s things like that, that make me want Barnes to retire

But in reality he really is one of the best coaches in CBB and will be in the HoF. Will he win a championship? Probably not, but most coaches don’t. Only 5 active coaches have

I've no problem with Barnes. And I can't get my head around realistically winning a tournament. But you can see the potential in his teams. So that's why it's frustrating to watch us struggle offensively.

Have a buddy with some connections, TIFWIW, but he says this is due to Ms. Terry (Saban’s wife) having some major health problem diagnosis. Which is very sad and prayers to them if that’s the case.

On a football level, this lends to them not being as prepared as a year long plan. They may be having a full on coaching search.

Same guy just told me Lanning is all but a done deal and could be leaked as early as tonight/tomorrow lunch. Once again, not an insider, just know a few minor guys around bama’s team, TFWIW.

Exactly...the fact that a lot of these coaches are mercenary egomaniacs will get them a good coach...and he will win with the stacked roster for a bit..but when it start to go the least bit south, the will hit the fan...the guy will get no patience for hiccups...and the carousel will start.

Anyone find it a little odd Saban never made an announcement or press conference himself? Just let someone leak it and still hasn’t issued an official statement

It leads credence to maybe what other posters have speculated about Terry’s health. It could be his also, who knows why now until there’s been an official statement from either Saban or the university. It does seem odd that all we’ve seen is national media and nothing from the university or coach.
