It's a good job, but the expectations are unachievably high. The risk of failure is very real and rational people know that. That may give pause.
People at the top of their field don't turn down jobs because the expectations are high, or because they are filling big shoes.

And if they are worried about it, it isn't going to make them lose interest in the job. It's just going to make them hash out buyout terms that offset that risk.

Why would anyone worry about getting prematurely fired as a CFB coach? Getting fired as a CFB coach is one of the best things that can financially happen to someone in the history of man kind.

Totally agree.

Look at their Head Coaches they've had since Bear Bryant retired..

Ray Perkins loser
Mike DuBose loser
Gene Stallings cheater
Mike Franchione enough said
Mike Shula 🤣🤣🤣
All before Saban

Greatest job in country my @$$...
It’s not the place. They’ve only been elite in the era’s of 2 of CFB’s elite coaches.
If they get the hire right they will continue to have success, if not they get more of what the above did

Weezer come clean and confess you been worried about all the recruiting
I think we did fine with offensive recruiting this class. Light a TE, maybe, but great on the OL. It's the defense I worry about. And the most glaring need that didn't get addressed was DL. I expect we'll have to hit the portal hard after next season for experience there.

I agree on DL.

I guess it’s just me, because no one else is bring this up, but I would hire Urban Meyer if I were Bama.
