That’s a legitimate gripe. We haven’t been aggressive enough in the portal. We’re gonna have to be ruthless this offseason and clean up the roster in a number of spots.

Keep hearing how great our NIL is, but have yet to see any true difference makers from the transfer portal.

Honestly, several players is concerning. Now, I am getting nervous.

They'll be back. Not serious violations, but team rules are team rules.

They weren't always successful in getting the players they wanted. Others haven't performed as expected. Others don't like changing positions. Others have been injured. They've been trying to shift guys around to build depth and find the best rotations. Sometimes, competition is productive; sometimes, it's less so. Sometimes, guys rise up; sometimes, they don't. We all have the same questions and concerns. I'm just saying, there's not always an easy answer. Workarounds don't always work. Players have to execute. And sometimes, there are still deficiencies.

Fair enough, hopefully they’ll be more aggressive in that department this off-season.

Gonna have to be aggressive in getting some OL and DB’s this off-season or next year will be another one where we fail to take the next step.

And they’re gonna have to let some guys go to make room, sadly. That’s the new reality.

UT has cultivated a lot of ill will. I don't pretend to understand the extent of the animosity, though it is cumulative. UT seems to be on the wrong side of the narrative most of the time. Narratives drive revenue. The media and conferences are not impartial. But the officiating needs to be addressed. That is out of control and letting it run amok is going to destroy the residual integrity of college sports.

Birmingham wants money and to control narratives. It has been that way for decades. Time to disrupt that. If they want to act like we are the black hats - be the black hats. Hand the evidence to social media inlfuencers and sports commentators. The video is in the public realm. Have some "talks" with the ACC. There are a number of ways to give Birmingham some indigestion.

I don't even know that he was out coached. Florida out executed Tennessee the first half. Florida out prepared Tennessee, out focused Tennessee. Technically all those things are on coaches, but I don't think the scheme and play calling was radically better quality for Florida in the first half, which it typically what people mean when they say out coached.

You didn't see anyone on UF fail to realize there was a runner right beside them like Hadden did on that baffling refusal to even attempt to tackle a ball carrier right next to him. You didn't see complete ignorance of assignments from their OL like you did ours. We looked clueless. Billy had his team ready, Heupel didn't.

Funny how Heupel and Co preferred Milton over Hooker when they got here. Continued to recruit Milton even after we got Hooker. I’m glad they figured that out quick, hopefully they do the sand and put Nico in.

There were rumors out there that Hartman reached out to the staff but they were comfortable with Milton.

There's no point in turning on CJH. None whatsoever. This team has limitations. Some of the older players have ceilings, and they've hit them. We're serviceable at best at certain positions. When workarounds aren't working, things break down. I wouldn't pin hope on one player being the fix. They have to work together and hold it together when things aren't going their way. What happened last night will happen again. UT is a team SEC teams want to beat. We'll get every SEC team's best effort. We have tough road games ahead, and SEC home games won't be a cakewalk, either.

What workarounds? Seems we’re playing the same players we thought we would and not trying anything else. DBs are still bad and rotating like we should. Oline mixes mostly same players as before. Not really trying younger players to see what would happen. Just my opinion.

The big time transfers play the field. That's why Alabama thought they were getting three different top tier QBs. I wouldn't read into that too much.

Gonna need a philosophical shift. Not everybody works out or will get a soft landing. And remaking a team by portal shopping is here to stay. And so are the risks and expectations that come with it.

Under guys like Butch and Pruitt yes, but heupel should be able to work it out, cant be worse than Milton at this point

You all just don't realize how bad any QB would look behind this OL. QB savior syndrome has ruined football. Even in the NFL, a QB can rarely outperform his OL. Remember Mahomes in that super bowl with several OL injured? He looked like he shouldn't even be an NFL starter.

Football is the ultimate team sport. And no QB can overcome a bad OL. Nico would look equally bad and possibly get injured, mentally or physically. There's no reason to put a freshman behind a bad OL, ever.

Honestly IMO we will see what Colorado is made of when they play their first real legitimate opponent when they play Oregon next week. TCU is not the same team they were last year and Nebraska or Colorado St are not very good. Travis Hunter is out now and he’s an absolute stud.

It hardly matters. He can sell the vision and celebrity he is, and those he brings. We will have the same record or worse as colorado, so who would you rather play for as a young kid with stars in your eyes and nothing tying you to Tennessee?

Yeah, roster management has become borderline NCAA dynasty mode. I know guys like Heupel don’t want to look at these kids as expendable, but we’ll get outcompeted if he doesn’t start making upgrades everywhere possible.

It’s a harsh reality, but it’s reality.

We see it at ND, Texas, FSU, Miami most notably. Also USC. Got to go after the dudes to fill the needs in the roster
