January 20, 1982...........Des Moines, Iowa

Ozzy Osborne bites the head off a bat during a concert on his Diary of a Madman tour.

He thought a fan had thrown a fake rubber bat onstage, and it wasn’t until he chomped into the flying mammal that he realized it was real. Ozzy even claims he felt the bat twitch in his mouth as he bit down on its neck.

“I get a lot of weird people at my concerts, it’s rock ’n’ roll," Ozzy told David Letterman in 1982. "Somebody threw a bat onstage and I thought it was one of these toy bats, so I picked it up, bite the thing’s head off and suddenly everybody is freaking out ... I can assure you the rabies shots I went through afterwards aren’t fun.”

“The taste of bats is very salty,” Ozzy explained. “It tastes of salt.” After the host asked if it tasted like anything else, Ozzy replied, “Well, yes, but I can’t really say that on the air, can I?”

The bat thrower revealed himself in 1982 -- the same year the concert took place. The man’s name? Mark Neal.

Neal was 17 years old when he tossed the bat onstage that night. It was something he’d planned to do, and even told his close friends about before embarking to the Ozzy Osbourne concert.

“We were telling everybody before the concert that we were bringing a bat,” Carmen Martin-Kelly, a friend of Neal’s, revealed. “Hell or high water, we were gonna get it in and throw the bat up onstage. We brought a whole bunch of friends who used to sit together in Section 22, so when Mark was headed up towards the stage, I told him to wait a few minutes so I could get up there and tell everybody that Mark’s getting ready to throw the bat up onstage.”

Mark Neal himself added, “We got right down in front, right in front of Rudy Sarzo, the bass player. I tossed [the bat] up onstage and it landed in front of him. He kinda looked at it a couple of times and motioned Ozzy over. Ozzy came over, picked it up, and the rest is history.”

I saw that show in Bham in March 82..like a week before RR died.
Beer on the floor and had fake ID.

Florida will not fire CBN , according to @MarcoVol Jedd Fisch would be their choice as HC..

Fisch just took the Washington Huskies job. Fisch ditching that job for Florida after not even coaching 1 GAME there, would be a ****** move on his part..

Believe it was 1988. Looks to be Barry Sanders next to Deion and Barry was a rookie with the Lions in 1989.
I was going by draft class. Also recognize Hart Lee Dykes, Barry"s OkState teammate and Mike Utley (RIP) from Washington State...Barry's future teammate with the Lions.

I used to agree with that but when you get paid, you shouldn't get the "kid" shield. Mincey isn't a kid. He's leaving for money. He can get over being fussed at for going to the competition.
I agree about getting fussed (but not cussed) at for going to the competition but I don’t about the “kid” shield. Making money doesn’t change you from a kid to a ”grown-ass” man or woman.

I'll always appreciate the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition for helping me through puberty. I hear it's gone politically correct in recent years, Damn shame. Communism wins again. I'm sure @Jackcrevol is dancing on the SI grave.
Bruh, they started putting “ @Glitch Girls” in the swimsuit edition

Oh man. That’s where I uttered the infamous “emaciated” lol.
We were talking about Saban and how NIL caught up to him and then I brought up Crosby's T-shirt business in high school. He laughed about how Crosby serial vomited after every practice and basically quit football and that got us to the picture.

Anyone get the feeling that Florida’s own administration dug the dirt on this, so they will be able to fire sunbelt Billy with cause?
If they fire another coach "with cause", I think they'll have a hard time hiring any coach that's proven his worth. It hasn't been that long since they did it with shark humper.

Siap.
Disney (and ESPN to an extent) recently admitted to mistakes getting into politics with their brand. SI went down that same path and lost a lot of people along with the struggling print industry… just stick to reporting on sports..

I guess going woke brings on going broke
