I guess going woke brings on going broke
The layoffs happened because the company that runs SI missed a 3.75 million dollar payment to the company that owns SI. Because of this the company running SI was in breach of contract to the company that owns SI. Because of that, the company that runs SI now owes the company that owns SI 45 million dollars. Once they found out that they owed 45 million they panicked and layed everyone off.

I read/subscribed to S. I. For many, many years. Then they put Bill Clinton on the cover of an issue. No offense to Willie, we have had worse presidents since him, but that had little or nothing to do with sports Just politics. Cancelled the next day. They ruined their publication more and more since then.

How is there a different company that runs and owns SI?

"Freaking out" is a loaded term. Everyone should hope for better OL play to protect Nico. Heard is a great pick up, especially necessitated by the loss of Mincey. I think this staff still would like a LG if they could find one. It's why they pursued Farmer early in the portal process. And we'll still be light on depth based on the development of second year players. If that's "freaking out", then I guess I'm still doing it.
We are going to be thin at spots, everybody not in the golden chosen 4-5 programs is going to be nowadays...but that just takes time and patience to remedy.

I think they are doing the best we can under the circumstances. I too hope we get loaded with a 2 deep SEC quality roster at every position, but in the NIL era, I don't think it will be easy to build or maintain one outside of UGA and OSU. Bama may even be on the way back down to "everybody else" roster level...but these kids are lemmings and will keep on going to UGA and OSU until something drastic happens.

It will be hard to keep UGA from steamrolling everybody...they just have so much talent stacked up, and beating them with them having a 2-1 talent advantage is going to be a tall order.

I think Heupel could pull it off if anybody can.
