I’m curious if any of the more knowledgeable NIL posters have insight as to why these collectives are being investigated?

The obvious guess is schools are breaking rules.

There are still rules. Schools can't pay players NIL.

This is a business decision. As little as Iowa is on the field for offense, Proctor should be able to prevent injuries and get ready for the NFL while playing few snaps per game

Fun fact, I just looked it up and Kentucky was ranked last in FBS and snaps per game. Mincey might be smart too

Yeah that would get pretty chaotic making classes retroactive haha, since they didn't enter at that time.

And some players' values have risen or fallen. The transfers we have so far have all risen since HS, by an average of 5 pts. The Bama TE went from unranked to an 86. Wouldn't be fair to base them off their HS rankings years ago. They have more info now to go off of. Seems the fairest outcome overall, though not all of them will be easy to re-rank. Will never be an optimal system.

That reminds me of my cute little granddaughter when she was two pointing at the Shrek movie and saying….eh-a-mu-ah. I could not understand what she was trying to tell me. She finally pointed at the donkey and said it again. With huge eyes and awe I asked if she meant Eddie Murphy. She looked at me like I was stupid. Later we were sitting on her ABC floor mat that was a puzzle, and she kept saying tri-ag-er. I would say tiger. She would say it again. After the third time I hesitantly said tiger. She blew out a breath and grabbed the middle out of the “A” and stuck it in my face and I said…..triangle!! I got the “you really are stupid” look.

I think I finally overcome when her vice principal told her I was her favorite teacher the other day. She’s 11 now.
