Titans have hired the Bengals OC Callahan as HC. Has worked with Peyton, Stafford and Burrow to name a few of his QB's he has coached. I like the hire at this point.

If Barnes never makes a final four at UT he will still be the best coach we have had here by a mile. Pearl might have been that guy and he might have more upside, but he has/had a downside too which cost him and us. Barnes is universally respected at every level and has been a HOF coach even before TN. We are one of the most consistently good teams in the country under Barnes. Players that he coached do well in the league. Recruits like Knecht know that and seek the man out.

Step off his nuts just long enough and you'll see just how big they are in college basketball. We could do a hell of a lot worse. Ask Texas.

Different mindsets. Id take 10 years of losing seasons for 1 title. I understand wanting sustained success, we all want that. But people don't want just a taste of it here and there. That's why I hate pro teams that are on the cusp and don't make a move to go for it. If you fail you fail, no shame. But I don't think there's any reason UT fans should accept any less than championship expectations. Otherwise what are we doing? We aren't MTSU. I'm not a fahr Barnes guy at all, I love him. I'm just saying having this much success has led to higher expectations which I'm sure Rick shares as well.

Everybody who is a Tennessee fan would love to see a FF appearance or a Championship.

Stability and leadership counts as much, basketball and baseball are way more difficult to win Championships in..

Barnes is our best coach, but that's comparing his success to what's been done at UT by previous coaches. Compared to the best ever I don't think he's top 5 at all...could be argued not even top 10.

At UT though it's a debate between him and Mears imo, and if Barnes reaches a Final Four or Elite Eight this year I think he ends the debate.

The great Manning vs Brady debate

Brady is 12-5 vs Manning.

Regular season is 9-2 for Brady.
Playoffs is Peyton 3-2 HTH

I view Manning as greatest regular season QB.

Brady greatest postseason QB although a losing record vs Manning.

The Tiebreaker is Super Bowl rings
Brady has 7, Peyton has 2

Brady has played in 10 Super Bowls quite an accomplishment going 7-3
Peyton has played in 3 going 2-1

This debate will go on for a long time UNTIL Pat MaHomes retires he is on pace to be best ever...

To me it's not about Final Four appearances,it's the stability Barnes has brought to this program.
NCAA tournament every year ,no shadey recruiting going on..

Coach K went to FF like clockwork for years but his team was always stacked with 5* recruits give Barnes a roster full of 5* every year and his teams go to FF regularly as well..

People bellyaching about FF's at Tennessee tell me how many Tennessee has went to ?

First…… I love Barnes and everything he is brought to our program…. That still doesn’t change that it is a tournament sport…. To me…. an Elite Eight is a great season and i want Barnes to advance to an EE or beyond…. I hate the thought process that we shouldn’t push for that bc we have had idiots running the college I love…. i want us to become like Kentucky/NC/Duke in basketball…. Alabama in football and so on. We have the administration to take us there. Go Vols!!!

We are becoming an All Sports school…. No reason at all that you can’t do it at the same time.
