You’re not wrong with the narrative part. Sampson is a remarkable talent always has been. I’m simply saying (and I think you will agree with this) his lapses in protection are what has limited him in getting more snaps in this offense. He can improve and I think he will improve there. The Iowa game showed he still has a ways to go; of course the Oline could’ve been better and Nico also could’ve got the ball out faster as well at times.
Partly. I think it also relates to the two guys who have been in front of him. I think Sampson should have taken even more snaps from Small. But part of Heupel's style and philosophy seems to be to play guys he trusts and who "earned" that trust. I don't think he is "if you stay you play" on the level Fulmer was. But I do think he factors in experience and trust.

Thanks!! Lived in Morristown when I was in MS a hundred years ago, and have been back there, so familiar with that area somewhat. We are open to any of that part of NE Tennessee. Thanks again.
My wife is from Johnson City. We visit there often. I like it a lot. Can't really advise on what part of Johnson City, but my in-laws used to live in the Carroll Creek area. Pricey, but very nice.

Exactly what I’m getting at. I don’t think he was going to pass up Wright but I definitely think he would’ve gotten more snaps in the offense and taken some from Small.

Anyone remeber the Chucky Trading Co in Jonesboro? That brings back good memories for me.

"He sent me across the Nolichucky to the vine-choked ruins of a mining operation at Bumpus Cove, and suggested I stop by the Chucky Trading Co., a restaurant that was once the 24-room residence of the mine owner. Strangely enough, it now serves Mexican food."
Yes, my father once bit down into his chimichanga there. A bit of the handle had fallen in. He broke a tooth.

Fortunately they paid to fix it. He was pretty calm about it.

Good grief. He's missed two memorable blocks in two years. Sampson is "too important" not to be on the field. Pass pro and Nico's internal clock are things that will have to improve.
He missed more than two in the bowl game alone.

I'm not saying he can't/won't improve his blocking. Just that it needs to.

By this logic, Heupel lied to his recruits at UCF. I’m sure he didn’t tell them he might leave when he was recruiting them.

This fall out at Bama is bc kids signed up to play for Saban.
I think it’s different that an opportunity came along after you said what you did. That’s not lying.

But if Saban knew he was going to retire and did not tell them until after they were enrolled. That is lying.

On Basilio, caller Peggy is a bridge too far for me. She sounds like a drunk Mamaw calling from her porch deep in the holler, no offense. Once a week is enough of her not daily geez. Get Big Josh to call in everyday. I miss Broderick too (RIP). Is Barney Boy still alive?

I'm just curious about the various health rumors that surfaced. Is he sick? Is his wife sick? Or did he really just decide enough is enough? Some call it being nosy, but I prefer to think of it as overly curious.

I loved watching the Yankees/Dodgers back in the 70's............Baseball bliss.
Those line-ups were epic for both teams.

"Cool story 'bro" time....for ya.

Went to see the Cards play the Giants back in '79 or '80.
After that doubleheader, the Dodgers came in for a series and stayed at our hotel. At dinner, Lasorda, Bob Welch, Manny Mota, and Bill Russell were sitting at the table next to us. Lasorda leaned over and asked me to come eat with them.
Pretty cool for a young whippersnapper.
That is pretty cool

King Henry VIII, the athletic King of England was violently unhorsed while competing in his favorite sport, jousting. In a matter of seconds, the trajectory of an entire kingdom—perhaps even the course of Western civilization—was altered.

It happened at Greenwich Palace, his favorite residence and the place where he and his daughter Elizabeth I was born. Henry was 44 years old at the time, and still in good physical shape. He was jousting against one of his courtiers, Sir Henry Norris, who was also a close friend of his second wife, Anne Boleyn. According to some accounts, Henry charged at Norris with great force, but missed his target and hit Norris's saddle instead. The impact caused Henry to lose his balance and fall off his horse. To make matters worse, his horse stumbled and landed on top of him, crushing him under its weight. Henry lay motionless on the ground, while his attendants rushed to his aid.

It is widely believed that the fall caused him to suffer a traumatic brain injury that affected his personality and behavior. Before the accident, Henry was a charismatic, generous and promising ruler who enjoyed the love and respect of his people. After the accident, he became a cruel, paranoid and vicious tyrant who executed many of his friends, enemies and wives.

Ultimately, Henry VIII's jousting accident is a fascinating example of how a single event can have far-reaching consequences for history.
