Bert Campaneris days until it's baseball time in Tennessee!! He also happens to be my favorite player while growing up and discovering the grand old game.

Well of course, but many of them get off-topic, and it can take hours to get a picture of what is going on. I just thought that this particular thread was the closest I could get to a one-stop-shop for recruiting info. Like I said, I guess that's why I stay in the bball forum most of the time. Just too hard to find info over here any more.

The mods actually do a pretty good job with keeping the player threads on track IMO

DK has different talent. Admiral wasn’t really a generational talent- just really good.

My boy signed with the Army National Gaurd this week. He'll graduate in May. MOS 15T. Plan is to have it pay for college and provide a retirement.

What state is he in? My son is currently in the Army National Guard in Louisiana.

MJ was generational.

People throw that generational term around too much..

Knecht is an elite player and was a great find my Barnes and staff..

If you put Grant Williams or Allan Houston on this roster they average as many points..

Allan Houston would eat like hell, the guy averaged 21.9 points per game in his career without help..

Unless you count Lang Wiseman or Carlus Groves..

Generational talent is idk. Someone that just has IT in anything they play. Like idk getting All State & other top awards in multiple sports & having your pick of what school you wanna go to in either sport.. instead you just skip it and go straight on to dominating the Pros

& dont say Mj PlAyEd MlB.. he was trash at baseball like pure trash lmao

You think making a major league roster is trash? I can assure you played baseball to 19, that only a very small % make a D1 baseball team. Having known several that have, based on their experience the difference between big time D1 baseball and even minor league ball is huge. Making an MLB, even playing in a game is a big deal. So, to call someone trash, you better be crushing 105mph heaters over right center.

On MJ, you're right man. I see guys doing what he did every day. Def not a generational talent. Although, no one alive today had seen anyone like him before. And widely heradled as the greatest player ever. He just wasnt talented. Just a hard worker.

247 thread talking best Vols all-time and King was brought up in regards to averaging 26 ppg as a Vol on 59% shooting (geez! Did they even have 3s? Not sure).

I looked futher into his stats...not only 26 ppg over 3 seasons... which is ridiculous off the bat and would lead the NCAA this season...but he also averaged 13 rebounds a game!! What the HELL.

Man I can't imagine seeing that kind of domination in person. What a player.

I mean, that was his Freshman year. Cut Sophomore year. The guy was only 5' 11" at that point. Then he sprouted 4 or 5 inches and morphed over night. Then was instantly his HS's best player after that.

Not sure how many guys make varsity as a freshman, especially under 6 foot.

We're talking the best Vol of his generation?

Grant v DK is close, but GW was more all-around and b2b SEC poty. He poured in points efficiently and played elite D. That said, DK may take us further...

DK has different talent. Admiral wasn’t really a generational talent- just really good.

DK has shown that he can just take a game over. Bernard, Reggie (White) , Peyton, Grant, Houston are others who had that ability. It’s fun to watch when they “flip the switch”.

What makes DK so fun to watch is the unselfishness his teammates play with his ability. They feed into it…..they almost become fans of the game while being active participants. Credit to The Deacon and staff for building this.

I am like others, enjoy it however far this takes us as you don’t see this often.

Let's be honest. He got a roster spot off name alone. Not cause he was a good baseball player. It was a smart $ business decision & thats it.

Hope Knecht drops 40 next Saturday but I'm fully expecting a few phantom foul calls on him early

Shocked to see FPI has us a 60/40 favorite on the road.

Really thinking this is a -2 UK type of game. Road games are hard enough, as we saw yesterday. But UK is our equal or at least close enough.

We'll need to be at the top of our game and guards will have to defend much better than yesterday. Reeves is a legit scorer. Need to treat him like we did Sears.
