My buddy called the game whenever he kicked the field goal right before half, instead of going for it on 4th & Goal, from inside the 3. Made it 24-7. He said, "you've been aggressive all year, and you change now, in your biggest game??...sends the wrong message to your team". He said right then that the Niners would come back and win it...said "it plants doubt".

He was right...after that was when they started falling apart.

So was my buddy, being right that is, whenever he said game over with 7 seconds left to go in the first half, and the Lions up by three possessions. After the game he even did a pretty good McGill impersonation...saying, "I can't believe no one else saw what only I did".

Campbell all too often coaches like a FAN, and that’s fun…and tbf he’s won with that philosophy. Basically transformed the franchise, but a term I subscribe to more and more over the past decade and a half is “needlessly CHASING POINTS”! Belichick started doing this during his dynastic run, but Brady would bail him out more often than not. Most famously going for it on fourth deep in his own territory because he “didn’t want to give the ball back to Peyton Manning.” Pats just missed converting and lost a regular season game. Hard to criticize the results of himself and Campbell but juxtapose that against riverboat doofus gambler Brandon Staley and a VERY TALENTED Chargers squad. Contrast/compare the eventual RESULTS with his successor. Harbaugh is an azz, but he didn’t win the sheer tonnage of games at both the college and pro level by listening to fans and his own inner Madden. You kick it away or take the FG and revisit later. Live to fight another quarter. Boring and inspiring groans from the peanut gallery but winning football strategy from the reigning adult on the sideline…CEO 101. I honestly believe Heupel properly battles an urge to never punt or settle for a FG every game. Son of a coach kind of thing.

Reading all this stuff about the Super Bowl. What should matter is the GAME. I don't care who the players are dating or who they plan to vote for or what products they endorse. Only watched NFL the last two weeks out of boredom. What I see is a boring product that pales in comparison to SEC Saturdays and that's gotten too wrapped up in drama crap. Rather watch Fun Belt and MACtion.

The best 3 level scorer in the country.

Knecht might be top draft pick if he was doing this at 19. Age sets him back a little.

Likely second contract guy.

Top 20, but maybe take him higher due to scoring and being a likely second contract guy.

Didn't watch the playoffs close, but it seems all four teams had a chance to win. That is good. Too many bad games in the past. We have VFL's in so that is a plus. This was the matchup many expected. We can say that is scripted, but to me the script is follow QB play. Purdy and Mahomes played better. Would not be surprised to see Mahomes and KC win another, but 49'ers can.

I use to not believe that. In the last few years my thinking on that has definitely changed. You know the NFL wanted the Chiefs and Taylor Swift to be in the news cycle for the next few weeks. Also all the no calls Bama and Georgia get during games is really pathetic. They don’t need extra help but seem to receive it most games.

If NFL wanted a news cycle every year, then Dallas would've played in Super Bowl for last 28 years.

Knocks on him were his passing and defense. Obviously improving his defense and the lack of assists may be the role he is asked. I think he can do even more, but those were the opportunities.
