Saying you saw Vols fans who wanted to drop Bama doesn't address Pates hypocrisy.I remember several vol fans wanting them off the schedule. Even volquest pushed that at times.
Do you remember when Pate defended the sanctity of our program and considered us a blueblood? This was during the Pruitt era! And reminded other college football fans of our sleeping giant status and thus brought that back up last year once we showed he was right about that. The dude has been critical of bammer fans too, calling a portion of them "trust fund fans"
But yeah, confirmation bias is a powerful thing my man!
Shoot, there were posters in this very thread that didn’t want to keep Bama on the schedule. Maybe we don’t swim in similar circles on Twitter but I saw it plenty there too. I do think most UT fans that can remember before 2007 will scoff at the thought of removing Bama, myself included, but I saw the opposite opinion enough to know there was a portion of our fan base that wanted that. If he’s saw people with that opinion like I did, he called them out.. just like I’ve heard him do on other occasions to almost everyone.. including Bama and UGA.Anyone wants to quit because the old ways of doing things are changing, then quit. That goes for our coaches, too.
As far as Pate is concerned, one weekend, after we all found out they would be changing the schedules, Pate mocked Tennessee fans saying, "Many Tennessee fans online are saying they should drop Alabama from the every year list." Pate laughed and said no no Vols fans. You're going to have to man up and keep playing them. He mocked Vols fans for being scared.
The very next week. Saban comes out and crying about possible having to keep Tennessee and LSU on their schedule. Did Josh make fun of Nick for being scared? Hell no. He defended him.
I'm on X a few times a day and I don't remember any Vols fans crying about keeping Bama.
I quit the NFL years ago. Take a knee is not for me. Peyton kept me engaged for a while, but the game has changed and it's lost it's appeal for me. Personally, I've filled that void with MMA and haven't missed pro football at all. Enjoy the UFC but ONE is fantastic. It never disappoints. 165 was a great card. Highly recommend anyone taking a look if you enjoy combat sports. Won't post it here, but take a look at Takeru's leg after facing Superlek. I mean...dayum!!Reading all this stuff about the Super Bowl. What should matter is the GAME. I don't care who the players are dating or who they plan to vote for or what products they endorse. Only watched NFL the last two weeks out of boredom. What I see is a boring product that pales in comparison to SEC Saturdays and that's gotten too wrapped up in drama crap. Rather watch Fun Belt and MACtion.
What sports prognosticators don't point out when they are right? And can you call him braggodocious when he admits he's wrong?
They'd also have the Lions in.If NFL wanted a news cycle every year, then Dallas would've played in Super Bowl for last 28 years.
Jerry Jones is a media darling ..
Almost no pro contracts have anyI'm not proposing a solution, just pointing out what the real problem is. When an NFL team signs a deal with a player the deal is a price, for a time, with performance expectations and penalties. NIL is being used as pay for services, but without any of the guarantees, penalties, or performance mandates. That is a formula for trouble and trouble is what we're getting.
Employment doesn't eliminate NIL, but it will relegate it to second tier. NIL is being used to get around the inability to pay, but if you could pay you wouldn't be using NIL. There is zero chance that a high school 5* OT's NIL is worth to a company what he's being paid, so NIL drops to something more appropriate to its value.
I love Nico, but I seriously doubt he is generating $10M in revenues to the companies he's hyping, and to be worth $2M annually, he's got to be driving much more than that in sales. Maybe I'm wrong, but that would have to be a *lot* of beets. And even if Nico is driving that much business, I assure you the OT being paid $1M isn't. He's ultimately being paid because the businesses of Knoxville make far more when UT is good, and they know it is worth money to them to keep UT good. That isn't really NIL.
"Hi. I'm Nico Iamaleava. When my parents come to town they always stay at The Tennessean. Now I know most of you are poors that can't afford it, but just think how nice it would be if you could. Go Vols!"
Um no. The majority of The Tennessean's demographic probably don't know who Nico is, but I promise the hotel owners well know how important UT's success is to their sales. So there is a strong justification to invest in the program, but NIL may not be the best vehicle. If athletes were employees, I think NIL will still matter, but not be the primary motivator. Look at the NFL. How many guys do you see in ads? Very few.

Wth a uterus? I don't get it. Just...why?What has been done can not be undone. . . welcome to the SEC

The point you replied to remains...Pate ripped and mocked Tennessee fans as soft, but kissed Sabans ass and took up for him over the same f'n thing...that is a fact.I remember several vol fans wanting them off the schedule. Even volquest pushed that at times.

Lol okSeriously you must see an abundance of arrogance in your life of you think Josh Pate is too arrogant
The same guy who literally had a segment confessing that he was a clown for some bad takes he had
I'm not defending him because I have a love affair, I'm more shocked how anyone could possibly think he's overly arrogant.
Yeah if Pate actually did this he is a hypocrite…defend him all you want but that is ridiculousThe point you replied to remains...Pate ripped and mocked Tennessee fans as soft, but kissed Sabans ass and took up for him over the same f'n thing...that is a fact.
I like Pate...but that was a good point...it happened and I lost some respect for Pate over it.
