People are dumb..those numbers don't happen often. I have seen the greatest have games like this...it isn't a mystery to me. We are no where near being one of the greatest, so obviously we are gonna have more off nights.

The attorney of the Tennessee-driven marketing agency Spyre Sports Group released a statement Tuesday night following news the NCAA is investigating the Volunteers for NIL violations.

This has been a crap day, but I believe Tennessee will put NCAA in their place.

I don't read it that way. I read this as saying we (Spyre) did nothing wrong. They're just getting out ahead of this.

Literally every team has these games.

Nobody is near undefeated this year. Which for top 5 teams, means they've all lost multiple games they "shouldn't have".

Get over it and suck it up. THIS IS BASKETBALL, football fans. Welcome to it.

You may be missing some things. I played and know Basketball.. Yes, this team is special. But, we will be stopped if on offense, only Dalton and Jonas are consistent. Little from Mashack. Almost nothing from.JJJ. Very streaky Viscovi. Many of these players have been streaky their whole time here.

I believe in this team. I love Zieglers fight. But there are things that need to change.

This game doesn't mean crap...period. All teams have bad shooting nights..period. It will never make sense to you if you don't know basketball.

It's just the nature of the game. We have a good team, that will make the tourney..if we shoot well, we will win..if we have a night like this, we will lose.

And there is no making sense of it...we do not have a plethora of great shooters and scorers...but even the greatest shooting teams ever have had bad shooting nights...it's just basketball.

There's not always a "will" or "want-to" that determines basketball. Far less than in football.

You either freakin get the hot hand...or the bounce..or not. There are correlations sure, but weak at best. Basketball is crazy.

His last off night...we scored 90.

The problem with all this is the damage has already been done. Opposing coaches will use this to say Tennessee is about ready to be thrown under the jail, whether true or not. Whomever is behind this has already gotten the desired affect. If I'm Tennessee, I'm sending a letter to the NCAA demanding that they dispute the report or they'll sued into oblivion.

And TN can spin it as we are standing up for the players NIL rights. There are several ways to spin this.

And I can still air my frustration at a team losing a game at home to a 13-point underdog on the same day we get news about a NCAA screw job. Doesn’t mean I understand basketball any less.

You said "Typical Barnes. We always have a game like this".

EVERYONE has games like this.

If you get that, then you get college basketball. If you have to point that out, as if it's unusual, then yes I question your viewership.

What I am kind of worried about is the negative recruiting. That has been happening to us ever since Heupel got here. Now this may start it up again.

If you played you should know that teams have off nights, some teams are bad matchups, sometimes one guy gets hot and beats you, sometimes a team is playing really well and they beat you, etc.

Or did your squad go undefeated and look magical every time out?

Vols are what they are. Vescovi isn’t gonna be less streaky, Mashak is gonna continue to be the defensive heartbeat but provide little on offense, JJJ will continue to be a role player, and DK will continue to be a killer.

Gonna be fun watching them and see how far they can go. Just wanna be rollin in March.
