Yes. But it's one of the NCAA's few "real" weapons and they brandish it like they are actually going to be allowed to use it. The SEC and the TN AG won't stand for it.
Thank you LA, we are just normal everyday fans enjoying some behind the scenes maneuvering. We’ve been bent over so many times by the NCAA, our administration and by news media. We’re sick and tired of it. Have been since and shown it on Schiano Sunday. It’s got us fired up as never seen as a state and importantly the fanbase. We’re sick of it. When you see the gump fanbase stick up for us, FOR US? The fix better be in for NCAA. Thank you so much for explaining the X’s and O’s for us. Well appreciated.

After watching Mincey's performance in the bowl game, I'm almost certain he was r-u-n-n-o-f-t

He probably was and couldn't really say that without making himself look bad. Instead, he tried to play it like he gave his all but was hurt but then a few rude fans attacked his performance (likely bc he chose to go to a rival) and he had to dig himself in. I think his original intention was actually to just say "I wanted to be there and gave it everything but it didn't work out" but because he couldn't/wouldn't say it was because he'd been recruited over and wanted to go somewhere he could get more reps without worrying about losing his spot, it came across as deceptive. He went to a rival SEC school after declaring he was returning all while posting pictures of himself living it up which made him very much look like he was another OL using the portal to get more money.

He should've simply kept his mouth shut. No one would've hated him beyond a few and the few that did are the types that are present in every fanbase and who will hate him no matter what. He was never going to come away looking good by talking about any of it on twitter after declaring he was returning.

See the underlined below. Weird, I remember hearing almost this exact phrasing from a recently retired hall of fame coach. Now it’s getting pushed here when the early results show that NIL has created MORE parity than before. Who have you been talking to, NCAA?

✊😀

In one of the numerous times Saban repeated his self-interested lie that "NIL is ending parity," he concluded by reassuring Finebaum: "But we have good people working on it. And I'm sure they'll come up with a good solution for us."

So I don’t know how NCAA investigations go, but I can’t imagine the NCAA is too forthcoming with information.

Nice part of this going to court is that you have a healthy discovery process, right? I’d love to know what all communications about competitive imbalances in neighboring states we can force the NCAA to send our way. I hope the attorneys have a hay day with the discovery process.

I don't understand folks saying this will be a close suit
The NCAA still has institutional supporters and a lot of resources. Even when you think all of the facts are in your favor, you just never know how a trial is going to go. There's no real possibility of settlement for a case like this.

The NCAA can also do what a lot of deep pocket defendants do. They do everything to muck up the process and delay as much as possible.

It's just rare for cases with such powerful parties on both sides to be easy and quick.
