I don't think Stewey knows what he's talking about, or I don't. Am I wrong in thinking for all intents and purposes that Spyre is NOT a booster? Therefore this would not apply. You cannot tell me that with the NCAA already having a presence on campus that UT would be stupid enough to do something where their greatest defense would be whataboutism. Tosh wash I say, tosh wash!

Seems the NCAA changed the definition of booster to encompass collectives, and now is trying to retroactively enforce it on UT.

Dear NCAA--

Just a reminder: you picked the hill.

Regards,
Tennessee

How much do you think this swift reaction surprised the NCAA?

It sure seems like the TN AG and the University of Tennessee had all of this planned and were just waiting on the NCAA to make a move.......someone there leaked it to Forde and then...............BOOOOOOMMMMM!

I would think that the speed and depth of the response had to surprise them.

I hate the kayfabe. Of course everyone is doing it. And they’re openly saying it in public.

Forgetting the myriad of other issues, why are we having to do these expensive showdowns based on a fantasy that there are only a select few rogue programs that are working with NIL collectives in recruiting?

It feels like everyone except the AA and a few in the media have gotten sick of it.

Yes claiming Spyre as a “booster” is a clear violation of antitrust laws. You can’t claim a private business as a booster just because the ncaa updated a regulation to define them as such 🤣…it just won’t fly in court lol
