If the NCAA had known this fact they would have known to leave us alone.

It's funny how fragile people have become regarding bathrooms. I can't imagine fighting someone over them accidentally peeping me on the potty. Women have stalls but just about everyone has had someone accidentally push open a stall door on them at least once in their lifetime. Obviously, creepers looking to get some sort of thrill out of it are a different thing altogether but seeing someone else's naughty bits in a public changing room or restroom should never result in so much anxiety that you're out there claiming fights are breaking out because someone saw you unzip. A lot of baby boomers went to school in an era where you got naked and showered after gym class and same sex nudity was common in certain circumstances.

Now, we're gonna faint if a kid pees behind the bushes because the next rest stop is too far for them to make it and full on fight if someone spies you at a trough or walks into a stall? This is the result of not having real problems to deal with - you make up new ones.

So many have said Brain blew it with that call...I have never had a problem with it, and have always thought it was the right thing for him to say.

Kayfabe, Brain NEVER trusted Hogan, even as the biggest babyface the industry has ever seen, going back years and years; so, it was something he would absolutely say in that moment, even if Hogan was coming to save the day.

The biggest moment in the history of the business.

The heel turn by Hulk prolonged WCW Wrestling another 5 years ..

I also liked Hulk as a heel, hell I like all the heels.

Ric Flair, HBK and HHH all were great heels.

It's funny because you make fun of others for saying it's corrupt and manipulated if not outright fixed...and now you just admitted that it is corrupt and manipulated..so..turns out you're not a damn blind fool afterall...just a damn "go along" fool..😂
I'm assuming Referees will not let Tennessee play the physical brand of basketball in Rupp Arena.

Which I don't believe they will, that's why I'm saying Tennessee loses HOPEFULLY i'm wrong.

Okay so I have got some clarifications for anyone interested. I spoke to a few NIL lawyers online today and I got some of their insight.

Basically in Alston V NCAA the case that made NIL legal the supreme court found the NCAA in violation of the Sherman anti trust act.

Our legal cases are built off of that same foundation but we are going a step further in saying simply interfering with NIL is enough to violate the Sherman anti trust act.

to that effect Tennessee has given the federal court responsible for the eastern district of Tennessee until feb 6th to issue a TRO. (temporary restraining order) if the eastern district court grants that the NCAA loses its power to touch us or any nil enforcement for 10 days and during that time we will seek an injunction which would make that time period much longer.

In terms of the outcome if we are granted the TRO that means we are very likely to win the injunction and the whole case against the NCAA.

if we are not granted the TRO it isn't over but it means out odds are not very good on this particular case.

A few NIL lawyers I have spoken to think we will likely win the case and a few more have said we stand on shaky untested ground. and even though the NCAA has had some high profile legal losses recently they where able to win a case about amateurism against a few football players that played in a small paid league but then tried to enter NCAA as student athletes. So this could shape out either way. in the supreme court Kavanaugh went a step further against the NCAA in his concurring opinion which will help us but that was only 1 of the justices not all 9 felt that way. so just be aware its far from over or a slam dunk

I personally believe we will win this case but I do not have a legal background. I just want people to be aware that there is not a consensus that we win or lose this.

I will say however this has a much higher chance of working than most anti trust cases because of the way the NCAA is structured and how it already was ruled in violation of the Sherman anti trust act in Alston v NCAA. so if you see a low success rate with anti trust suits just know ours is better than average.
If we don't win...we are dead meat...this is an existential fight at this point.

This sucks

Doc, I meant what I said or asked before. I’ve got questions about a particular night at work during the time I worked during the snow pile up. We can move this to other, like email or something. I need to know if I did the right thing. It’s important. And…..it is. I’ll leave it there.
If you have sent me an email, I have not received it. I have looked through your posts without finding what you wanted to ask me.

Please post it in the RF football thread or send it to my email.

Thanks 🙏

How do you know he signed before he came to UT? And how do you know the contract doesn't have an exit clause for spyre?
If it’s based on his NFL potential I’m guessing there is some kind of deal that Nico donates back to
Spyre with NFL earnings or promotes them, etc. who knows unless we get to see the contract.

Here is a good example of how the NCAA typically works….. it makes absolutely no season…. i disagree with this writer that cooperation got colleges less penalties… It has always seems to me that allowing the NCAA to see all your flaws leads to enhance penalties… not less. The NCAA can kiss my azz!

For anyone that needs it.

February 2, 2024: You can very easily get overwhelmed if you try to do too much at once. Narrow your focus, and take one issue at a time instead of looking at the overall picture. Be reminded that nothing is too difficult for you to accomplish, and remember that you do not eat a meal in one gulp; you chew and swallow one bite at a time. Psalm 61:2-4 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

You guys need to relax. As long as NIL dollars flow and we do it the right way the worst they can do is limit scholarships and post season ban. That is bad, but today you can buy past everything but the post season ban. Kids are going to see who has their back in all of this and many will still want to be on our side.

Contribute to the collective if you can and enjoy the show.

All aboard

I said it the other day and I’ll say it again, F this hypocrite. I recommend everyone take a look at his mailbag for this week. The dbag discuss our situation and Michigan’s. Then has the audacity, in the same article, to praise Ohio State’s boosters for their success in the portal and recruiting. It’s appalling.

My son is a senior in high school and been going with me to games since he was 8. Played basketball and baseball in high school and loves sports and the Vols. Was with me as we set with Trey Teague and whipped Bama. Said his best sports moment ever. And that’s after a CG game 1 hitter last year. If NCAA wins and puts us on a crippling probation, he said he will be done. Can’t support a body that is like the NCAA and all college sports will be dead to him. We’ve got to win or else the program will never recover until the NCAA is dead.
The sad thing is that the NCAA is the NCAA whether they can make things stick against UT or not.

I'm just sitting here hoping UT burns them down. Pun intended... Go full Sherman Campaign, leaving scorched earth behind them.

It seems to me that the universities that make up the NCAA have been at a loss on how to deal with the infractions committee every since the courts granted NIL. The reality is, the infractions committee may be about to rain down billions in losses from court cases. How will they pay? The committee operates at a loss and athletic departments across the country don't have that kind of extra cheese laying around.

I don't find universities to be very good at dealing with the real world.

The Biggest cheat of all has been the NCAA . They've allowed some schools just do as they please. Don't really know the reason. Maybe paying those guys under the table or what. But bama Saban sure got things rolling in a hurry. As soon as Kirby got to Georgia, he started using the same method. And just turns out Kirby is doing it better than Saban . NIL is the only thing that has slowed both of these A-holes down. We've been the beaten step child for 20 + years. Our institution did the only thing it could do to try and right the ship.
