Ok then salary caps?

Then we agree. Imo a CBA would include a salary cap from the owners' side.

Just trying to understand your position.

Then again, college sports has never been remotely close to an even playing field. Probably the most uneven.. due to lack of above. I can't say if it would help or hurt us, but the uniformity would be nice.
Yes...a salary cap...I assumed everybody understood all the ramifications of a CBA.

If the schools with the most money are always going to get all the best players...then what is the f'n point of competition? Just to see if you can knock off a 5* loaded bought team with a bunch of 3-4*s once every 3-4 times you play them?

At this point...players are going to be employees...they want a piece, but that comes with a price...you have to give to get. I hope they understand that.

True. But this is the best Kentucky offense we’ve faced in awhile, and the last Kentucky team with a good offense we faced in Rupp put 107 on us. I just think Kentucky losing on Wednesday was probably a bad thing for us. I’d rather they have come in learning nothing from a close win against Florida than locking in after a bad home loss.

I trust our defense more than our offense right now though. It needs to be a team effort if we want to win. It can’t just be Dalton.
We also lost last week. Both teams should be highly motivated.

I agree we absolutely need our other players to step up. We have the deepest team we’ve had in recent memory and we got veterans shooting like walkons. JJJ and Santi need to step up their game.

So, honest question... Would that work?

Since the SCOTUS (and many state laws) say that you can't artificially limit a player's NIL capabilities, you can't cap their marketing income. So... You're right back where we are now. Everybody gets the same salary (whether $0/yr or $100,000/yr), but richer, more productive markets will draw the better athletes based on NIL potential.

I don't know. Maybe you could get a player's association to bargain that right away. But especially with the SEC/BIG announcement yesterday, it seems much more likely that the richer/stronger conferences will say what seems plain... "We're not going to be dragged down to try to keep a competitive balance with the lower half of the league that will never compete with us anyway. We're going over there to do this our way."

Honestly I think that's smart money. Both teams can be very good. Both teams can be very average. Usually, the advantage with bipolar teams goes to the home team. I don't know why UT was favored to start with.

Tennessee was probably favored to start because Kentucky’s defense is every bit as bad as people say. The question is just whether or not our offense will take advantage of it.
