Just like you consistently see unranked teams beat ranked teams. You also see teams who are underdogs in Vegas beating the favorites. Upsets happen every day in college basketball. I cannot fathom why you think that's a good argument. We consistently see teams with lower kenpom rankings best teams with higher rankings.
I’m not sure what your point is. If every higher KenPom team beat lower ranked teams, Vegas wouldn’t exist. It’s a predictive metric but not perfect. It’s based on efficiency. For instance, a PPG stat means nothing if you play a fluff schedule. KenPom is adjusted for your schedule. We consistently see teams with lower kenpom rankings best teams with higher rankings.
It’s because the one thing they feel they have to do is keep “pay for play” from being a thing publicly. NIL pretty much assured it would be a thing, and extremely public. They don’t like that.I dunno why all the huff and puff by the NCAA about NIL, the NIL era started super strong with kids getting offered Millions. Then the companies/collectives involved realized this wasn’t sustainable and the NIL market essentially fixed itself, where kids aren’t getting anywhere close to a million “unless they are extremely coveted”, yet the NCAA is freaking out because of how badly they have tried to handle the situation.
