From reading various reports from the courtroom today, my prediction is that we don't get the injunction, but the judge will make clear where he's leaning (against the NCAA). Hopefully, this influences the NCAA to drop the investigation. I think the key issue here is the same as the temporary injunction. It's hard to prove irreparable harm when money could compensate the players. The schools probably have a better argument for irreparable harm, but I'm not sure how they quantify it, so it's not deemed to be a future or speculative harm.

It's another case of losing the battle but winning the war.

Reminds me of a bit by comedian Tim Wilson (RIP). I think the show was in Louisville, so he mentioned being in the middle of basketball country, and mentioned that he had recently been in Bloomington, Indiana and started talking about Bobby Knight. He said something to the effect of, "Now there's a heart attack waiting to happen. If he ever decides to quit coaching he's got a rifle on top of a building somewhere just waiting on his ass."

Just one point of contention. I don't think the standard for "irreparable harm" is that money could not compensate the damages. That's a standard that could never be met. We use money to compensate for any kind of damage, including death.

I believe the standard is that there are more damages than ONLY the financial. And regardless of the outcome I think it is basic common sense that players and universities stand to lose more than just money from an NCAA investigation.

He's one ugly looking dude. I'm no fan of Beyonce, but she is gorgeous. How he got her is a mystery unless it just about being a power couple
It’s the same reason why so many rich people marry other rich people. They all socialize in the same circles. Just look at the Frist family. You won’t see an insurance salesman marry into a prominent family. Lol

Reading this on the same day we’re in court fighting for our program’s future over a plane ride for a recruit is so infuriating and just further illustrates why the NCAA needs to die.
Especially considering that the vast vast majority of players are getting minimal impact from NIL. Maybe a few thousand per year for teamwide deals. Only the top players are getting larger deals and even those combined aren't a drop in the bucket compared to TV deal level monies.
