Petty was Edey putting Barnes in his mouth instead of just celebrating the win. Petty was their coach saying we play tackle football prior to the game to try and prime the pumps on these calls. Especially when you queue up all the images of Edey elbowing people and picking up 0 calls.

Fans can be petty sure, but they are fans. Maybe we don't see all the missed shots either, but hard not to see a lot of missed calls on Edey when he stands in the paint with impunity. Edey is a great player merely because he is 7'5" and gets a favorable whistle. In those conditions he is dominant. That does not mean he is fun to watch or an elite player. It will be very exciting to see how they call his matchup with Burns. Something has to give when those two play.

Certainly easier to look that way when you are incapable of fouling.

Had one get in my crawl space and dig his way thru the insulation. Infested our first floor with fleas thru the floor vents. Caught that sucker in a trap and released him 20 miles down the road. Nasty varments.

Had a friend purchase tickets for a baseball game against Missouri on 4/27. He did not realize they were standing room only. For anyone that has been to a baseball game lately, are their benches or some sort of seating in the GA section? Asking because he purchased my wife and myself tickets as well and my wife will not be happy if she has to stand all game.

That I agree with, as long as they stay down near my barn and don't make their way up to my house I am fine with them.

Looking back at some of the post-game comments. I find Barnes comments on Estrella intresting.
I wonder if Aidoo is encouraged to look around this off season.

Would agree. Literally every other team in Country save 7 others 'struggled' with Purdue. We arent talking a 4 or 5 seed here, this was the #1 seed in MW.

I'm not happy but, i'm thankful to have watched this team play. Was exciting, and wish them all best in their careers. What else is there?

Again, its basketball. If this were football all bets are off...,mattresses😂

Not a ton of development, still a little uncoordinated, needs work in the weight room, and still a lot of molding to be done. And he just played arguably the best game of his career imo. He made the (now) 2x NPOY work in the Elite 8 and bested him on a couple plays defensively and offensively.

Estrella is loaded with potential. Folks need to stop being so myopic. He's not a "great" basketball player right now, and that's why he's not a starter and hasn't gotten many minutes. But he has the tools and potential to be a very very good center. I'd bet he's also not finished growing either.

Estrella wasn’t scared to take on the edey. I think he will develop into a great player for Tennessee. Hopefully he’ll get 1/2 the officiating bias. Just 1/2 would be good.

Absolute garbage take. Just embarrassing to use a close loss in the E8 to criticize Barnes, who is undoubtedly the best coach this program has ever had.

I don't mind posters pointing out the things the team did poorly that could have changed the outcome.

ZZ shooting 25% FG and 12.5% from 3 while taking the 2nd most shots at 12 is going to hurt you
Aidoo going 0-4 and only grabbing 2 rebounds is going to hurt you, he's the 3rd leading scorer on the team and lead the team in rebounding...losing that production is big
Mashack and Gainey both playing 20 minutes and combining for just 6 points on 5 shots is rough to overcome
JP and Awaka played as well as you can expect given the matchup.
Santi gutted it out so he could finish his career playing, wish he had gotten to end his time as a Vol 100% healthy and playing full speed.
JJJ was money these last two games, he really should have been taking more shots.

The team and coaches aren't hung up on officiating because they know they can't control it.

This season Purdue took 912 FTAs, that's 2nd in the country. Last season Purdue took 720 FTAs, that's 41st in the country. In one season they gained almost 200 attempts, that's just insane...almost nothing else changed between those two seasons except Edey has taken 4.4 more FTAs this year. His FGAs, his minutes played, are all nearly identical.

I don't think WE specifically got screwed, but everyone that looks at numbers would agree Purdue gets the best whistle in all of college basketball. They take 24.7 FTAs a game (9th in the country) but their opponents only take 14.0 FTAs a game (13th lowest).
Their Free Throw Rate (% of FTs taken per FG attempts) is 42.2% that's 8th best in the country and their opponents have a 22.5% FTR which is the 9th lowest in the country. They are the ONLY team in the top 10 in both categories.

Wouldn’t be surprised or hate it tbh, Aidoo played horribly the last couple of games, and it is telling how Estrella played more yesterday then Aidoo, heck Aidoo only played 10 minutes. I wouldn’t hate to see us go after the 7’0 Yale transfer

39.7% 3P% (8th most by a Vol)
93 3Ps (6th most by a Vol)
234 3PAs (8th most by a Vol)

So only 2 major scoring categories did he finish outside the top 10 for a single season. He's easily the best scorer we've had since Allan Houston I really wish we had gotten DK for 3 or 4 years.

I think it depends on what style they want to play. Barnes comments had me wondering if he would run a 4 and 1. Which imo we don't need another big for that.
