You can argue this game is a “bad” matchup either direction.

Rattler vs. UT’s secondary

Tennessee’s pass rush vs. SC’s pass protection

Tennessee’s running game vs. SC’s run defense

Tennessee’s receivers vs. SC’s secondary

It’ll be a game of which team’s strength exploits the other team’s weakness the best.

I have faith in UT being able to do this better.

Nah just in 50's know somewhat history of NFL...imo the dominant defense the Steelers had in the 70's is the reason you never hear Bradshaw mentioned much in QB discussion..even though he has 4 Rings....

To be honest I think the fact Terry finished as a 52% with just 2 more TDs than INTs has a lot to do with it, he's a guy that has 4 rings and is in the HOF BECAUSE of the great team around him.

To be honest I think the fact Terry finished as a 52% with just 2 more TDs than INTs has a lot to do with it, he's a guy that has 4 rings and is in the HOF BECAUSE of the great team around him.

I'm a Cowboy fan in many ways because of Staubach. So I may be a little biased.

I want the guy that went 85-29 while tossing 57% with 44 more TDs than INTs who never threw more than 16 INTs in a single season and the guy didn't get to play until he was 27 because of his military service. So a good 4 years (at least) in his prime wasn't even working out with Dallas to prepare.

So, growing up, I pulled for the Raiders, I'm 56, so you know, the Raiders were the bad guys, etc.. I could not stand the Steelers, and still don't like them, but I don't follow the pros anymore. When I met Mr. Staubach, he was part of an architecture group that had built a new corporate campus for us around 15 years ago. anyway I was for the Cowboys over the Steelers in those two Super Bowls, and when I told him my age, he said, "Yes, you are the right age and remember all of that"... I think he was trying to tell me that he tries to forget.. But, I'm one of these guys that remembers old Vols football scores, win or lose, from the past. The first game I ever went to by myself with some friends from high school was the 1984 Florida game at Neyland Stadium. Unfortunately, we lost, 43-30. T Rob was our QB and Kerwin Bell for the gators... I paid $2.50 for my ticket to that game. I can still see Joey Clinkscales making a great over the shoulder TD catch in the corner of the North end zone, before the checkerboards and the old school UT in the middle of the 50 yard line...

I’d rather lose that game early than go on a winning streak, then lose it late while being on a winning streak like what happened to us against SC last year.

Staubach 100 times over ...even though his career completion pct was only 57% but Roger Was a dual threat before there was a dual threat in NFL....

My dad was a big Steelers fan and he lived the 70s during the dynasty, but toughness was the only thing he liked about Terry.

I honestly don't think Terry should be in the HOF. He was just the starting QB for a truly elite team, basically Tee Martin of the NFL.

I do believe the Crowd Noise and our desire for Revenge will get us the Win. But the Florida game does add some apprehension.

Ok...so it being next year means 40+ less points..sure.

Look....I get what you are saying to a degree, but in this case the only differences I see are we are at home...and our offense is one dimensional and not great at that one dimension against a team with a pulse.

And Rattler isn't coming into this game looking like a huge 5* bust like he was last year coming into the game.

Bit of fool's gold... we've played VA (114 of 133 in total offensive yards), Austin Peay (FCS), and UTSA (119 of 133 in total offensive yards)... and even Florida is just average at 78 of 133 in total offensive yards

Scar’s defense is horrible. They have two players. That’s it. This is a night game in Neyland and we blew a shot at the ship last year because of them. The fans, coaches and players want blood. As another poster said, big red flags if we don’t win this one.
