I assume Calipari is looking forward to having players that stay more than one year. I wonder if at KY, he had pressure preventing him from building a veteran squad (as opposed to cycling in top recruits every year).

I wonder if he built so much of a brand around it he couldn't get past it in the eyes of recruits. They expect to go to Kentucky on a one year loan whether they need more development or not.

Maybe he can get over that at Arkansas, and maybe that messed up idea sticks at Kentucky and screws them for a few more years.

Auburn gave him a chance when he came off show cause. Most programs would not have done that and steered clear. Dude didn't coach anywhere for 10 years after cheating and got hired to a solid SEC program. They've supported him fully his entire tenure there. They absolutely did do a lot for him.

They didn’t give him a chance…. they hired him bc he is a winner…. Same as Hugh Freeze…. Auburn didn’t care about the Hookers…. the lies… using a company phone…ncaa violations….. trying to ruin another man’s reputation….. They cared about winning… Some other team would have given Pearl a chance… just like Liberty gave Freeze a chance…..

Winning in a less competitive conference with less talent is not the same as winning in the SEC. She'll have to recruit at a much higher level and she does not have the relationships with the kind of players we need.

Yet.

Neither did CJH. But look at our recruiting now! Will take time to show the recruits how much she can help them with their goals. If she is a good person and she recruits good players then she will succeed. Again, see CJH. Don’t go for the NIL shoppers. Go for the players who fit your criteria. She will get the support that she needs through this AD.
