When Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant in a farmhouse parlor in Appomattox Court House, Virginia, on April 9, 1865, standing with other war correspondents in the front yard was William Downs MacGregor of The Associated Press.

1. Those aren't mutually exclusive. They can all be utterly wrong and we can suck eggs next year while simultaneously this be a real sign of respect for the program and the nation's expectations that the Vols will be at the top.Or maybe they don't know what they're talking about?
John Wooden would have something to say about this. Why I think Houston could've given them a good game (had Shead not gotten injured). Length meets length.
Purdue's 1 through 4 never stood a chance. Edey played great first half, but Clingan got to him. Elite 1on1 defense and still gave up 37. Why he is b2b poty...but why UConn is b2b champs!!! Best 2-year run in college basketball history iyam.
Tbf, Bama likely would have been put in a different region in that case. Kansas or Duke would've been our 4.Thanks! I work in the engineering world so I'm very logical/numbers driven. It always baffles me though how many times I'll share stats and it gets some fired up to argue.
Like "these are the numbers" that's all I'm sharing, make whatever opinion you want....but usually if I think a team is bad at something it's because the stats support it.
Tennessee was the best team matchup wise to beat UConn, but we had to go through our worst matchup to get there and we lost. It happens, the 1 seed would have helped us avoid Purdue but had we gotten it in the West we would have had to beat Bama for a 3rd time (honestly not sure how confident I would have been doing that) or we might have had to face Arizona if they don't get upset by Clemson...and Arizona was another bad matchup for us.
I'm content with SEC Regular season champs AND an Elite Eight, imo it's the best season the Vols have had in my lifetime.

I can probably count on my fingers and toes the negaLVs in that thread - I and thousands of others love LadyVols basketball and want a coach that will move us back to elite status and potential national championships. I and everyone I know that cares, are supportive of Coach Kim Caldwell - research and a day or two helps.I really wish there were a way to spin that program off as a self-financing (or bust) entity. Let them have their way, and make it work on their own superior power, without the people that they so obviously hate paying for it. All they do is take, take, take, and bish, bish, bish.
Actually, if we had gotten the 1 seed in the West, as I understood it, Bama would have been sent to a different region because we were in the same conference and had played twice. They were projected to the South until the last minute and moved, in effect, to the West with UNC.Thanks! I work in the engineering world so I'm very logical/numbers driven. 1971-1973 UCLA went 60-0. So no.Why I think Houston could've given them a good game (had Shead not gotten injured). Length meets length.

I have to say...this is a boss move by Calipari if this happens...heck it may have happened already, I don't know because I've been out of pocket..
Either way..Calipari telling Kentucky their 33 million don't mean crap to him, and his pride is worth more to him, that he will not grovel and take the endless slings offrom the admin or fanbase after what he has done there is actually impressive to me...I did not see that coming.
My respect for him went from zilch to at least a little.
Well, in fairness, I didn't make that box; I discovered it fully formed and seething in that forum. I guess I was especially pissed at that moment. I too am really excited about Kim Caldwell and a new beginning. If you read on a minute or two, you will see that I posted right after that I was angry at the asylum most of all on behalf of intelligent true LV fans like "our Owl." You can guess who that is. Sorry, I blew my top.I can probably count on my fingers and toes the negaLVs in that thread - I and thousands of others love LadyVols basketball and want a coach that will move us back to elite status and potential national championships. It’s almost exactly the way I processed Coach Josh Heupel.
Again - that box you built is small and most of us don’t fit in there.
Thing about Dan Hurley is his offense is very slow pace but with an extreme amount of player movement and awesome shooting. He’s more brains than Nate Oats is as Ron Slay said on 104.5 the zone. Dan has the ultimate balanceI hope, whenever Barnes decides to retire...hopefull a long time from now...we still have DW around to hire a Euro BB inspired coach like Hurley (and Oates). The potential with this style is hiiiigh

It was indeed a great season.
"Without a high-powered offense and being able to score the ball," Hurley told FOX Sports, "you can't win a six-game tournament."I didn’t say euro players…. I said euro style of play…. Here is an article that helps describe the transformation.
Dan Hurley's desire to adapt helped UConn evolve into an offensive juggernaut | FOX Sports
Two years ago, UConn coach Dan Hurley made a commitment to embracing offense with NCAA Tournament success in mind. Michael Cohen explains how Hurley's desire to adapt has helped transform UConn into an offensive juggernaut.www.foxsports.com
It’s the balance of his offense that makes it high powered and sets it apart from guys like Oats and Pearl who rely to heavy on the 3 ball, his guards are in constant motion after every iso screen. It’s actually very similar to some Ivy League offenses but tweaked."Without a high-powered offense and being able to score the ball," Hurley told FOX Sports, "you can't win a six-game tournament."
