There was speculation about a conflict in personality/work ethic.

That actually makes sense..a physical aggressive player like Awaka may have a big problem with playing with someone that seems passive enough to not mind getting the enemies big oafs shoeprints on his chest..Aidoo never seemed to have a lick of FIGHT in him when we needed him to hold at some ground the most against really good bigs.

Since he decided to quit on us and go chase a few extra bucks...I will not be defending his habit of disappearing at the worst possible times and just becoming literally NOTHING but ESPN highlight fodder for good opposing bigs.

DK won the fan vote and was 10 points higher than 2nd place. Nobody wanted to see Edey win the Naismith. Everyone saw the favoritism he got from the officials. Dalton Knecht was the best player in college basketball this season. What a gift it was to have him in BIG ORANGE. Thank you DK and thank you Coach Barnes.

He's probably never going to be healthy enough to play/practice as much as he needs to in order to compete for all four rounds of a tournament. It's a shame because the talent is still clearly there. I'm not sure many pros could've made the cut in those conditions with the same prep Tiger has had. Hopefully he can finish the tournament and not turn in any high scores. Maybe he can stay around even with the wind settling down this weekend. That would be impressive.

Eventually Tennessee will break down the wall and get to the F4. That I believe without a doubt. However, I’m not sure we will ever see a scorer as prolific as Knecht come through here again. A three level scorer like that guy just doesn’t come around often at all. We were blessed to see him wear the orange and white and be the best scorer in college hoops this season. What a joy ride it was.

Long season, lots of games.

The name of the game is to win “series”.

You’re going to lose games in Baseball, but if you’re winning series - it means you’re winning more than you’re losing. Which will put you in contention at the top of the standings.

(1) Show me the team who lost 50% of their players to the portal this year. (2) We are doing a great job retaining our rosters and coaching up transfers. (3) I don't give a damn what professional sports leagues do. (4) Coaches leave all the time for more money or what they see as a better situation: that is the example they set.

So that's a telescoped edition of what I deleted above on account of length. And I'm out. Agree to disagree. Football game incoming.

We agree on a lot of things..this topic is where we kinda part ways.

Chaos is good for no one ling term, it leads to entropy...and what is going on now is pure stupid chaos.

Sure you MAY get LUCKY and get the right guys sometimes and make a run...but this is no way to build a firm foundation for the program, it is building on shifting sand...which is pure foolish stupidity.

Depending on a crapshoot is ridiculous...just watch what happens when we have to pick up 4-5 portal players just to ensure a good team, and miss the evals on 2-3 of those that we HAVE to hit on to have a good team..how does a NIT bid or worse sound? (I REALLY hope this doesn't happen)

Several teams..including us got lucky this past year, but that has not blinded me to the obvious pitfalls.

We have to completely rebuild the team this year because of graduation and portal defections...I hope we do great at getting players to jump to us or it will get ugly...guys like Knecht are rare.
